teaching for Oxford as Academy

I have been teaching for Oxford as academy for almost 4 years. I loved every second of it. The most important thing for me is that I feel safe with them. we all have work permits, health insurance, nice houses and also a big support from Oxford as academy. they ALWAYS pay us on time (mostly on 28th) which is a huge advantege of this company for the people like me and my friends who are living on their own. For us (almost 20 teachers in this city) it feels like we have a family here that always supports us.

Fantastic company

I have been fortunate enough to work for Oxford As Academy for nearly 4 years now and my experience with them has been fantastic. I have always been provided with a work permit, been paid on time and received so much support in regards to both work and personal issues. Armagan has often helped me beyond what I would ever expect and has motivated and guided me in many ways. Working for Oxford As Academy and moving to Turkey was the best decision I have ever made which is why I shall continue working with them for as long as I can.

Currently working for Oxford as Academy!

As a passionate English teacher in constant search for exciting teaching experiences outside the borders of my country (Argentina), I was fortunate enough to be given the chance to become part of the Oxford Academy as Academy team, a group of positive and extremely professional people I created lots of great memories with. Both years I spent in Turkey were a bliss as I encountered no problem at work, I was treated fairly and respectfully and I had plenty of time outside the working hours to get to learn more about and enjoy life in Izmir. Thank you, Oxford as Academy.

I love Oxford :)

Hello,
I have never written a review online, however after randomly coming across this posting I felt the need to comment. I have been working for Oxford as academy and Armagan for going on three years. I was literally shocked to see the two very negative reviews on this site. I have never had any of the issues or concerns these comments outline. Oxford has always been and continues to be a very professional company. Everything outlined in my contract has been followed. Everyone who works for this company has always been provided with a legal working permit. My work permit was arranged for me from by my school, like all permits. I have always been supported and assisted in every area of my working life in turkey. In many cases Armagan has gone above and beyond to assist me in whatever was needed. I am so happy with my decision to move to turkey to teach English. Especially with my decision to work with Oxford. Armagan and Oxford have always provided support to me with work related issue and also outside of work for any issues that arise from living abroad. I will continue working next year. I cannot speak about anyone else's experience, but I felt I needed to post this review to show how different my experience has been and continues to be. I'm hoping this review will help provide another side, and give a better understanding into working with this company.

Never work for this people!

If you are willing to have the worst teaching experience in your life than Oxford As Academy is the best place. Fake contracts, no work permits, blackmail and threats if you wish to quit the job. Very dangerous people ! Forget about personal freedom or professional approach, they will put you in a situation where you will find out that you are an illegal worker in Turkey and they will use this against you as a tool of control.

Warning against working for Oxford as Academy, Bursa, Turkey.

I'd like to warn teachers out there who are considering working for Oxford as Academy, Bursa, Turkey.

DO NOT work for Oxford as Academy. They will tell you that you will get a residency permit in Turkey which will allow you to work. That's a complete lie which will cost you a lot if you get caught. Foreigners need a completely separate work permit in order to work in Turkey.

The reason that the agency lies is so they can save money on applying for the work permit for you (which is a lot of money) while tricking you into working for them. Yes, they send you to work in actual school. However, just be aware that if you get into trouble, you will have no one to turn to because if you go to the police, you will just get caught.

Questions & Answers

Hello, let me answer your question. Most schools in Turkey demand natives speakers of a desired language, mostly English. But, in my case, I'm native Spanish and I'm an English teacher as a foreign language, so I worked as an English teacher and Spanish obviously. So, no, it's not only for natives
