About Program

Welcome to Cellusys CodeCamp in Accra, Ghana. We offer an intensive computer coding program to empower young Ghanaians who are talented but wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity. Our mission is to turn beginners into professional software engineers ready for employment.

We've been operating for only four months; we are running two classes and expanding rapidly with more classes opening in the next few weeks.

We're looking for volunteers to help get the word out about our program, help optimise our operations, and help with administration. You do not need any knowledge of computer coding. We welcome responsible, creative thinkers who are looking for an interesting experience and are keen to contribute positively to our project. We'll want to learn about your strengths so we can carve out a position in which you can make a difference in a way that fits for you.

We cover costs for your airfare, accommodation, insurance, visa, meals, phone credit, transport, incidentals.

Program Impact

We're fostering a culture of innovation and empowerment. We accept applicants we believe can go on to become successful software engineers with the skills to tackle real-world challenges, and drive positive change in their communities, from creating innovative solutions, to sharing their knowledge with others.

33% of our students are women, and a big drive behind our student recruitment is in encouraging women applicants. We want to increase the percentage to 50%.

We have ambitious plans for expansion, aiming for country- and continent-wide impact. In our first four months we outgrew our first school premises, and we're expanding quickly. Volunteers joining now will have the opportunity to contribute to our growth and witness the direct impact of their efforts as we work towards our shared goals.
