YearOut International Volunteering - Uganda Project
- Uganda
About Program
YearOut offers two volunteer opportunities in Uganda. The first project is with Soft Power Education, a British registered charity and Ugandan NGO working to improve quality of life through education in Uganda. As a volunteer in the rural village of Jinja, you will work on the school refurbishment programme, assist at one of their two pre-schools for children, or interact with children at the Amagezi Education Centre.
The second project is with Uganda Rural Community Support Foundation (URCSF) in the Masaka and Rakai districts. This Foundation focuses on creating autonomy and self-confidence among communities and groups within Uganda by helping them to build secure, productive and just communities. As a volunteer, you can assist with the after-school program, work with farmers on agricultural or livestock farms, assist with construction activities at the farm or help with presentations and workshops on community development, human rights, AIDS awareness, etc.
