Why did you decide to volunteer with Aim Abroad in India?

India volunteers

Aaliyah: I have always wanted to do a volunteer holiday. There are many organisations out there but Aim abroad is one that I found to be the most flexible. No set travel dates or minimum times.

Describe your day to day activities as a volunteer.

Aaliyah: We ate breakfast at the host home and they took us to the slum school where we helped the kids with English and Maths. Then we would return for lunch, after lunch we would go and visit the Orphanage and help the children with their homework, or just spend time with them, take them to the park etc.

What made this experience unique and special?

Aaliyah: The variety of places we got to see. The hosts were very accommodating and flexible.

How has this experience impacted your future?

Aaliyah: I would love to do something like this on a regular basis for a longer period of time, as well as encourage my friends and family to do it.
