Why did you decide to intern abroad with The Intern Group?

Bailey: I researched online and applied to a few different programs. The Intern Group was one of the only companies that really took the time to cater to what I was interested in doing. They really care about making you feel like your time is worthwhile.

I had a couple interviews and they ultimately let me decide which company I wanted to intern with. They don’t just want your money, they want to give you a wonderful experience.

Describe your most meaningful souvenir and why you love it?

Bailey: I have two: the friends I made and the experience I gained. I made life long friends in London. I’ve had the opportunity to go back and visit some friends. Those same friends flew to America to come visit me!

It has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Interning abroad helps you gain experience in your industry on a level unlike anything else. You really get to test your skills and learn from other cultures. It teaches you to communicate effectively, ask questions, and challenge your mind.

What is one piece of advice you’d give future The Intern Group students?

Bailey: Be as open minded as possible. You are going to get lost, confused, and frustrated but that’s okay! Use your mind and think rationally. Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Also, plan ahead because if you don’t...you’ll be late to everything! Especially if you don’t know where you're going.

How has this experience impacted your future?

Bailey: This experience has changed the way I think and see the world entirely. It’s made me hungry to see more of the world and encouraged me to do so. It has also influenced my decisions in every day life.

It’s made me appreciate life and the beauty around us. This experience has also given me the opportunity to make connections on an international level and should a job opportunity pop up in London, there is no doubt in my mind that I would take in a heart beat!
