What is your favorite travel memory?
Travel brings up such a variety of experiences from connecting with others, to experiencing new cultures, to learning valuable life lessons. The experience of travel has contributed to my own personal and professional development and has transformed me in ways which are often hard to describe.
If I had to pick a particular memory it would have to be spending time with a Navajo tribe in Monument Valley, AZ, United States. Stopping to appreciate the rhythms of this ancient, sacred land was unforgettable. It truly is one of the natural wonders of the world.
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
Since the conception of Travel Teacher I have had the privilege of delivering life changing experiences to individuals with the desire and ambition to achieve personal growth and to make an impact in global communities.
Observing how individuals adapt outside of their comfort zone has been a fascinating learning experience for me personally. I have also gained greater experience and knowledge of the concept of internationalization.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
I have been fortunate to have witnessed the distances travelled by a number of our volunteers and have many success stories and moments of achievement stored as fond memories.
Several volunteers have returned having made life changing decisions to switch career paths so that they can make more of a difference and live a more fulfilling life based on their experiences whilst on our program.
The best stories that I have heard symbolize the achievement, fulfillment and success of individuals.
