What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memory was traveling to Xiamen, a beautiful city in China. Located in Fujian province, Xiamen is actually a lot similar to my hometown, Chaoshan, which is one of the most traditional places in China. There are a lot of delicious food and fantastic places to check out. You can take a walk at the beach in the evening. You can go buy some specialties and send them back home by delivery. You can walk around and buy postcards or souvenirs in shopping areas. Sea food and snacks are definitely the things that you can’t miss!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I joined EPC when I was a university student and I was an activity organizer at that moment. I was a bit nervous and not confident when with foreign students who are from other countries. It was a brand-new job for me and I needed to learn fast and grow fast at this job. As time goes by, I’ve become more independent and confident. My boss gives me a lot of freedom to do my job, hence I can propose whatever I think it’s good, especially when it comes to cultural activities and parties.

Later on, I’ve been doing things more about marketing, which is related to my major in university. I also learn a lot in this part.

In a word, I become more open-minded, creative, pragmatic and independent at this job. It’s a challenge for me but that’s what I like, because I can learn more, not just about the skill, but also the foreign cultures.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

One of the best things of this program is that you are not only learning language and culture, but making friends and thinking over your life. One of the participants, who are also my good friend now, joined this program and sought for whatever she liked to do in her life; she made a best friend, who is from Germany, during that time and decided to get a bachelor's degree in Germany after that. I also think over my life every time when I hear of their stories and that really changed me a lot.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

If I were a foreign student who are in a gap year or want to learn a foreign language, I would definitely go with EPC. Learning a foreign language with a local family is the best way to go. Not only will you use this language day and night, but also you can learn more about the culture.

In this program, you’ll get free board, food and monthly stipend which are enough for you to live in a foreign country. Besides, you’ll attend language class and join in cultural activities. What’s more, you can travel to other cities with the whole team! You’ll feel safe with a host family and have a great time with them. Those are beautiful things that you’ll remember in your life!

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Our company is unique since we are more focused on the language and cultural immersion. We do our best to make sure that all the participants will learn and get what they are expecting. We have a strict interview system to make sure that both host families and participants fit each other perfectly and follow on every step of the way to ensure them a wonderful experience in China.

I was especially proud of seeing the growth of our company in a short time, but what’s more, in EPC, people are not just a number: the whole team cares deeply about each participant.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe the biggest factor in being a successful company is that a passionate team of people who truly believe in the value of what they are doing, care and trust each other not just the number and profit. A friendly and efficient team will do their best to make all the goals come true in the end.
