Sabrina is an adventurous soul with a love for teaching and helping others. She believes everyone should have the opportunity to travel and enjoys helping students achieve their dreams.

What is your favorite travel memory?

My favourite travel memory was visiting Civita di Bagnoregio in Italy. I had just moved to Italy and my first outing was visiting this small town, which is perched on the top of a hill. The village can only be reached by crossing a narrow pedestrian bridge and it has the most stunning panoramic views. As I sipped on a café and enjoyed the views, I couldn’t believe that I would be spending the next 5 months traveling and teaching in this enchanting country.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

At The TEFL Academy, I have grown as a person both professionally and personally. By talking to people all over the world, I am more understanding towards others, and I have developed my people skills.

Personally, I have made life-time friends to celebrate birthdays, engagements, and other special occasions with. My time working at the The TEFL Academy will always be special to me and I’m excited for what the future holds at our company.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

Our students inspire me every day. It’s amazing to see students from all different backgrounds and ages achieved their dreams.

One of my favourite stories is from our former student named Sophie Huggon. At 19 years old, Sophie completed her TEFL course and moved to Nepal where she taught English to young monks in a Buddhist monastery. Sophie used her gap year to help young students learn English and I found it very heart-warming.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would join our TEFL internship programme in Vietnam. I haven't travelled to Vietnam, so 10 months in Ho Chi Mihn city would be unreal.

There is no fee to join the programme and it has fantastic benefits as well! It's also opened to non-degree holders, which is great for recent TEFL qualified teachers without a degree.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

We are the world's only TEFL course provider that has received official recognition from government regulated awarding bodies both in the US and the UK. All enrolments on our Level 5 course also include a free top-up course, so our students can specialise in their preferred field.

We also have a great team of advisors and tutors, which all have experience travelling and teaching abroad.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe the biggest factors in being a successful company are having a friendly work environment and a great product. Everyone at The TEFL Academy is so supportive of each other’s personal and work achievements. Our caring attitude towards our colleagues reflects the way we provide support for our students.

Secondly, the TEFL course we provide contributes to our success. Our course leads to a Level 5 TEFL Certificate (168 hours), which is regulated by Ofqual (UK government) and DEAC-Approved (U.S. Department of Education National Accreditor). Employers offering the best opportunities with the most competitive packages are now asking for level 5 TEFL qualifications, so it's exactly what you need to get the best jobs around the world!
