Stefano was born and grew up in Rome. After getting a degree in law (master equivalent) from “La Sapienza University” he has been working in the development and management of International Education Programs for more than 17 years. He managed the startup and implementation of two new study abroad schools in Italy, before working for almost 8 years as Director of Study Abroad Programs in the U.S. Now he is back to Italy, enjoying a new intriguing professional opportunity at EdOdyssey.

What is your favorite travel memory?

The welcome I received in China during an exploration visit of some universities together with the possibility to know a bit and firsthand of a fascinating different culture has been a unique and inspiring experience.

I probably felt the same wonder and curiosity that I see in my children's eyes as we explore new places and meet new people.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

EdOdyssey is providing me with the unique opportunity to continue engaging in the development and management of new Study Abroad Programs with a greater entrepreneurial approach and on the base of shared ideals and values.

Day by day I feel that I'm learning and growing with flexibility for giving the best professional contribution to this virtuous International Education Company.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

Study Abroad sometimes really change life of students and some of them plan for an additional experience overseas. One of these students surprised me a lot. During the first semester in Florence this student got an upper intermediate level in Italian language and once back expressed a conscious appreciation for the Italian life - style. The same student attended another semester in Florence and after graduation decided to move to Italy where, in the meantime, found the love.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would choose to attend our intensive semester program in Florence, because I truly believe that we were able to design a unique program that blends the appeal of a wonderful and traditional study abroad destination with curricular and extra curricular experiences really linked to the local heritage and resources. Lastly the career focus of the whole program and the flight promo would represent an additional incentive for choosing this Program.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

EdOdyssey is unique because is a boutique Study Abroad Company with a specific expertise and focus on few selected countries that we know well and where we propose experiential learning, custom and accessible programs. I'm especially proud of sharing with our team the same passion and commitment for providing our students with meaningful and transformative Study Abroad experiences.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe that people make the difference. In particular in our field people with an authentic passion, expertise for international Education and care for students represent a good start for a company.

At the same time it's also important a leadership with a clear vision and the ability to build an effective and flexible organization for achieving in the best way the goals.
