What is your favorite travel memory?
My journey to Ethiopia with a humanitarian aid group was a profoundly impactful experience. Embarking on this mission allowed me to witness firsthand the resilience of the human spirit and the profound impact that collective efforts can have on communities in need.
Traversing the diverse landscapes of Ethiopia, from the rugged mountains to the expansive plains, we engaged in various humanitarian activities aimed at providing essential assistance to those facing challenging circumstances. Whether it was distributing food and medical supplies, participating in community development projects, or offering educational support, each endeavor contributed to the collective goal of making a positive difference.
The warmth and hospitality of the Ethiopian people left an enduring impression on me. Despite facing adversity, the sense of community and unity prevailed, creating a powerful synergy between the aid group and the local population. Interacting with individuals who displayed incredible strength and determination amid difficult circumstances fostered a deep sense of empathy and understanding.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
Working for Spanish Express as a Spanish teacher and Spanish Homestay immersion Coordinator has been an enriching experience. From the moment I joined the team, I have had the opportunity to contribute to the Spanish learning journey of passionate and dedicated students, while also overseeing and facilitating immersive cultural experiences for them through our homestay program.
The Spanish Express platform provides a dynamic and flexible teaching environment that has allowed me to tailor my pedagogical methods to the specific needs of each student. My students’ experience during their participation in La Tomatina festival in Valencia was truly extraordinary. La Tomatina, known as the world's largest tomato battle, is a unique celebration that had a profound impact on the way my student perceives popular festivities.
Upon arriving in Valencia for the Spanish immersion program, my students were very excited to delve into Spanish culture, but La Tomatina turned out to be much more than an ordinary celebration. Experiencing this festival provided a unique and different perspective on how popular festivities are conducted in Spain. The intensity of La Tomatina, where thousands of people engage in a tomato fight on the narrow streets of Buñol, left an indelible impression on my students. It was an exhilarating discovery of a completely different way to celebrate and share joy. The festive energy, camaraderie among participants, and controlled chaos made this experience a practical lesson on cultural diversity and the various ways people express joy and celebration.
In addition to being an exciting immersion into Spanish culture, La Tomatina allowed my students to connect with the local community in an authentic and participatory way. This first-hand experience not only expanded their knowledge of Spanish festivities but also enriched their perspective, providing a deeper understanding of the diverse ways people around the world celebrate and enjoy life.
