Why choose AfricaGap?

The best experience you can have in Africa for a young person. Volunteering in primary schools in Kenya and Zimbabwe, spending time on wildlife conservancies learning about conservation, and expeditions to wilderness areas led by professionals in tourism. This is a challenging programme for volunteers aged 17 - 23.
Africagap also has a new youth one month programme for 16 - 18 year olds designed to fit into their summer break.
Africagap allows young people to take the best of Africa home with them, humility, pride, appreciation for the natural world and a huge sense of how lucky they are.

AfricaGap

AfricaGap provides a unique, incredible programme. As someone who was keen to travel in Africa on my gap year, I was unsure where to go and honestly even where to start. But AfricaGap does the ‘hard stuff’ for you. Annabelle and Simon have created a programme, starting in either Zimbabwe or Kenya which allows you to see the all the best bits. Whether that is the elephants in Kenya, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, the gorgeous Tanzanian coast, animal tracking, working in local schools and orphanages, climbing Mount Kenya and so much more. Words can’t really do it justice. The highlight for me was camping on the Turgwe River - chatting to my friends while the sun set, then sleeping under the stars. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Pros
  • Unique access to some of the worlds most incredible wildlife.
  • Rewarding to help the local schools
  • Climbing Mount Kenya
