Individual course at Istituto Gallei

I enrolled in Istituto Galilei for an intensive one-on-one Italian course. Over the course of three weeks, I went from knowing about 10 words to understanding almost everything I was told and also speaking at a level that allowed me to get along rather well.
My teacher was kind and friendly from the first day, and was very attentive to my strong and weak points, tailoring the course to my progress. Thanks to her attention and encouragement, I was able to make swift progress even when I thought my head couldn't contain more.
In addition, the staff, Tania and Giulia, everyday asked how things were going and followed my learning curve. Before my arrival they had connected me with a family where I would stay, who were very considerate and kind. They made my experience in Italy unforgettable.
Overall, a rewarding and fun experience if you intend to stay a while in Florence.

Pros
  • Personal attention
  • Assistance also before arrival and during stay

The time spent in Istituto Galilei was truly worth every minute! The intensive language course has worked wonders in helping me to master my Italian. Every lesson was a unique experience tailored specifically to my needs that left me feeling like I was making progress every day. In addition, in the afternoons I took part in the art history course, which was a great way to get to know Florence better. THE best Italian language course

A native Russian speaker, I have studied various foreign languages and know the difference between an ordinary school and an exceptional one. When I decided to embark on Italian, I did a thorough research and identified Istituto Galilei as a language school unlike all others - and proved to be right! Istituto Galilei is geared towards adult learners who are motivated to come to grips with Italian within a tight time frame, regardless of whether they need the language skills for business or pleasure, and provides them with the perfect means for achieving this goal. The combination of their tailored approach, individual classes, unique immersion method, focus on immediate application of the learned material in a natural setting and fantastic teachers make Istituto Galilei truly stand out among other language schools. I would highly recommend it to anyone who cares about an efficient and highly enjoyable investment of their time in learning to speak one of the most beautiful languages in the world.

Learning Italian in Florence

I decided to study Italian because my family has Italian origins.
It has been a while that I was thinking about a trip to Italy so I thought it would be great to combine studying and traveling. When I was looking for language schools I found the Galilei Institute which is right in the center of Florence. I chose this school because I had the possibility to get a personalized course and this way I could have classes in the morning, still having plenty of time to get around in the afternoon.
Studying in Florence has been a great experience and the school staff was really nice, helping me to get around and telling me the best places to visit.
As for the course, in three weeks I really learned a lot. I had an individual course which was the best choice I could ever make as I had the full attention of my teacher.
I really recommend this school to everyone who wants to learn Italian and to those who need to improve their language skills.

Interview

What is your favorite travel memory?

During this last years, I've traveled throughout Italy, discovering the beauties of our country. I've visited Tuscany, Latium but also the south of Italy with its amazing sea and climate! I've loved to embark in this journey through our country and to discover the different and unique cuisines and traditions of each Italian region.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Since I have been working in Istituto Galilei and being in contact with students from all over the world, I'm taking benefit from the continuous cultural enrichment that they bring. Moreover, as our clients are often directors/managers/administrators of international companies , I have learned to relate with the people who cover even high job positions.

In the meantime I'm still learning from our teenagers students their contemporary communication language!

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

Actually we have lots of students that return over the years to study in our school. One them is an Austrian woman that really loves to travel and cruise around the world. She speaks fluently English and German, however, her love for the musicality and armony of the Italian language brings her every year to travel to Italy and return to study at Istituto Galilei, even if it's only for our short course (the weekend course).

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would definitely choose a combined program with the Italian language study in the mornings and some cultural activities in the afternoons such as an art history course, history of Florence course, some guided visits to the most famous museums in Florence, photography classes, drawing and painting and cooking lessons, excursions in Italy and Tuscany etc.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Instead of other schools, our Institute is specialized in individual courses that are completely customizable and have a tailor-made program fully built on the requests and exigences of the student. I am really proud to work with professional teachers in a friendly, cooperative and non competitive environment, in which I personally feel continuously enriched.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe that there are multiple factors that make a company a successful one. Some of them are the professionalism and experience of the teachers, the collaboration and cooperation between all the staff members, a friendly and opened environment, the curiosity towards new learning methods and a customer oriented approach.
