That question is a little complicated to answer.

Yes, you can bring a pet overseas with you. However, the process can be very hard on the pet. If They change too much between their physical and when they go through immigration they might not be allowed in, or they will be held for observation (which is not in the best conditions for your pet). On top of that if the school is supplying the housing they might not allow pets. Some schools don't allow a teacher to have pets and some apartments don't allow pets. You would have to check with the school before doing so.

In short, it is possible to bring a pet with you. I, however, would strongly recommend against it.

My advice would be to leave the pet at home. Once the teacher has been in the country for a while then they can understand the process better and decide if they want to bring it over or not.

I was told that you could not bring pets, nor were you allowed to get a pet once you were here. However, I have heard of several instances where teachers got pets in Korea. I think it might depend on your area and living situation because I'm sure some landlords will not allow it.
