Semester Abroad in Romania

Spend a semester abroad in Romania with New Horizons Foundation (NHF). Northwestern College and NHF come together to offer this unique cultural exchange. Studying abroad in Romania will allow you to engage in a new culture that is emerging from the debilitating impact of a dictatorial Communism. Through this program, students will explore various facets of Romanian society while enjoying the beauty of a part of Romania celebrated as one of the top back packing destinations in Europe. Students engage in experiential learning by working with Romanian youth while studying Romanian culture, religion, history and language along with a course in sustainable development theory. The program is group oriented, and includes excursions, a mountain backpacking trip, and home-stays with Romanian families.
