About Program

Artistic Volunteers exists to provide artists around the world the opportunity to come to Costa Rica and volunteer in different local artistic projects and organizations that will enrich their professional and personal life. At the same time, our volunteers will be helping these organizations enhance the local culture through the exchange of knowledge and artistic experiences of both parties, while we offer them a unique life experience.

Though a small country, Costa Rica offers a variety of interesting contrasts: scenic coastlines with white and black sand beaches, tropical rain forests as well as cloud forests, mangroves, volcanoes, canals, and turtle nesting beaches. Located in Central America, Costa Rica shares borders with Nicaragua on the north and Panama on the southeast; to the east, you find the Caribbean Sea and on the west and southwest, the Pacific Ocean. This offers an amazing variety of cultures and also a lot of different touristic activities to do on their time off.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
