Internship Experience

Hello, my name is Aura Rinjani. I am currently studying at Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Brawijaya University in Malang. First of all i would like to express my gratitude to Biorock in Pemuteran Bali for giving me the opportunity to work as an intern in your company. It was such an honor. This experience was a good start to open and enter further work opportunities for my career.

On the first day of my work i met Mr. Komang, he was very kind yet hilarious person. All of the Biorock's team member warmly welcomed as if i'm their own family. During my internship there were several activities that i do in Biorock such as coral transplantation, checking cables, making medias for baby corals, presenting for the visitors, fixing cables and anodes. Besides all of that i did another activities for instant cleaning the structures, beach, dive clean up and so on. Afterwards i met two volunteers named Laia and Fabi. They were volunteers from Spain and Germany. After a few days of working in Biorock my team and i realized that many visitors didn't acknowledge where they were. They weren't concern that they were on a conservation area which had "technology" to support the life in Pemuteran Village. Every activities had to be done based on the regulation in the area owing to the fact that the area had to be maintained.
Besides going around the beaches we went to Biorock's office. The look in front of Biorock's office wasn't very pleasing to see, its color didn't attract visitors to come. In order to made it more attractive we decided to do some projects. Firstly, we made a big banner as one of the way to educate visitors about the importance of protecting the nature and coral reefs. Secondly, we made a schedule board about "What's Happening on Biorock" that contained information about our team's activities every single day with this way people could see how we maintained the area. Moreover it could arise their awareness to protecting and making donation as a small act yet so meaningful for coral reefs. The third project was repainting Biorock's office as i mentioned before the look wasn't very pleasing to see. Therefore, with the new attractive look Biorock's office would be more eye catching for the visitors to visit.
We were working so hard on making Biorock to be better yet still beneficial for the nature. This was amazing and unforgettable experience for me. I would like to say thank you to Mrs. Tasya for giving me the opportunity. Also to Mr. Komang, Mr. Kadek, Mr. Made and Mr. Putu for the great experience and knowledge that had given to me. Lastly, thank you for all the member team of Biorock.

my Experience

well i was lucky to have a new family in Pemuteran. the people are nice, kind and loyal. and i was happy to being their part of life. not only in Pemuteran. but in Denpasar and gianyar too.
i get a new experience, new lesson, new friends, new culture, and many more.
i was go to Pemuteran to finish my Job Training from my collage. i thought, it`ll be boring. cause Pemuteran is a village. in pemuteran specially my basecamp, it`s feel like i live in pentagon. :D
There`s no internet connection :D
if i want to make a video call with my friends or family, i must go to the temple thats not far from basecamp :D
but it`s nice to have experience with anyone in Pemuteran.
i get a new life lesson there. like how to being brave to speak about what in your hearth, how to respect the culture, how to enjoy the life when you are struggling with it.
the most i miss from Pemuteran is the situation and also the people there.
i will back to Pemuteran someday. cause you will never get the experience in another place

What was your funniest moment?
drinking and talk about Funny stories that i didnt know is it True or Not :D
