About Program

With the 10-month Volunteer for Change programme, we join hands with agents of change all over the world who are already running sustainable development programmes in their countries. The aim is to support the eradication of poverty, strengthen education and health services and mitigate the climate crisis, in some of the most affected areas of the planet. We believe that this kind of direct action is needed more than ever.

Programme overview
The 10-month programme has three parts:
Period 1: Preparatory Training (3 months) Denmark
Period 2: Volunteer work at a Humana People to People project (6 months) India, Zambia or Malawi
Period 3: Conclusion and information back in Denmark / Europe (1 month)

The Volunteer for Change experience gives you the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the world situation and to develop skills, like self- reflection, project management, collective problem-solving and intercultural competence.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
