I am quite well travelled and have taught English in a number of countries, but teaching in Orsago was a whole different experience. It allowed to me to see the real Italy - not just the tourist locations or a nice hotel in an expensive town. I got to live with a real family, experience real Italian culture and teach a bunch of amazing kids.

Some of the highlights included the hilarious attempts at dinner conversations with my host family who spoke minimal English (and me with my non-existent Italian), feeling like I was on a movie as I rode my bike down country roads and everyone I passed yelling Ciao and waving, playing tennis behind this tiny church and being surrounded by mountains, and of course, trying to get a group of 7 year olds to follow instructions that they don't understand!

Oh and the Prosecco! Definitely one of the perks of teaching in Orsago, is that you are surrounded by Prosecco, and if you're as lucky as I was, you're host family will have their own vineyard!

Would you recommend this program?
