Coming here is the best thing I ever did (so far). It made me smile every single day, despite the hard work and long days. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you love dogs and working hard, this place might be perfect for you. Expect long days, windy/wet and cold weather, a soar back, and mood swings. To be honest, I loved the long dark days, the hard-physical work, the dogs and also the team effort. Even though you don’t get enough sleep, the dogs will give you so much energy and feeding underneath the stars with the northern lights high up in the sky is something that makes you shiver every single time. This place is really good at seeing people's potential and using everyone’s strengths. In the beginning, you are expected to do the basic jobs and built up your knowledge, but the longer you stay the more responsibilities you get and I found this place getting even more and more fun towards the end. I loved a lot of things about this place but dogsledding and dog handling were my favourites. Working in a team can be a challenge for some persons to; everyone is different and comes here with their own skills, but it’s really interesting to learn new things from everyone. There is definitely not a stereotype Hetta Huskies guide, you all have two things in common: you love to work your ass off and you love the dogs (otherwise you won’t last long). If you are not scared of challenges and are open to learning new skills with a positive mindset, you should spent some months here. And if you fall in love with this place like I did, you might even want to come back 😊
