Eye opening experience

I had a really eye opening experience of what research looks like in the field in the Canary Islands and saw first hand what some of the biggest problems in marine conservation are. It was VERY special to be so close to pilot whales in their natural habitat and have the opportunity to be guided by people that know so much about them. The staff on base where very nice and were always available to help if we needed it. It was a little overwhelming at times to be living with so many people but fortunately this programs brings together people with good intentions and good hearts.
