I Am Because I Did

Spain was the best place I could have studied abroad. There are incredible things to do and see in Barcelona such as night clubbing, going out to eat late, and sightseeing with some of the best art in the world. Spain has many different places to visit within it that are diverse. Cadaquez, north of Barcelona was my favorite place I visited and one of the most beautiful places in the world. The local people I met treated me like family. The people are kind and know the balance of work life, and Spanish time is nothing like American time; everything is late, and that is considered on time. I want to go back there to live one day! A word of advice: try to use your Spanish as much as possible. Put yourself outside of your comfort zone and feel uncomfortable. When you use English and they try to accommodate you using English, they often feel somewhat embarrassed, and they should not be embarrassed in their own country for trying to speak your language. Speak theirs as much as you can out of courtesy. This experience changed my entire life, teaching me things about myself (strengths and weaknesses) that I would otherwise have never learned. I grew, and you will too. It's worth the money.
