Learning about myself

Working with TalentProjX Gap Year Programme helped me to challange myself, and to learn about myself.
This programme is truly incredible if you want to pack different things in your gap year experience. Travel, adventure, nature, learning, growing, gaining new skills, socializing, learning about new cultures.

South Africa is the perfect place to do it. Wild nature, colorful culture, language exchange. The openness of the people in South Africa was such a nice surprise.
Experiencing life here, and learning about their issues, and solutions through the Entrepreneurship Course changed how I look at my own country's issues and solutions. It helped me to gain perspective.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I spent 4 days wild camping in the "bush" in the Kruger Park amongst lions, elephants and leopards.
Epic!
Pros
  • adventure
  • the entrepreneurship course material is very useful
  • learning about nature
Cons
  • dry weather

TalentProjX NPC

As a recent participant in the Entrepreneurship Development Course offered TalentProjX NPC, I can confidently say that this program has been a game-changer for me and my business. Here are my insights and advice for future participants:

• Course Impact (5/5): The well-structured content covering essential aspects of entrepreneurship, from ideation to execution, is crucial for any aspiring entrepreneur. It’s great to know that TalentProjX’s expertise and passion shine through in each session, making the learning experience engaging and relevant.

• Networking Opportunities: Networking is a powerful tool for growth. Leveraging workshops, guest speaker sessions, and collaborative projects can help you build connections with fellow entrepreneurs, share experiences, and learn from one another.

• Mentorship and Guidance: Personalized mentorship is invaluable. Katiso and the team’s insights can save you time and help you avoid common pitfalls. Don’t hesitate to seek advice or discuss your business ideas with them.

• Non-Profit Approach: It’s refreshing to see TalentProjX NPC’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs without solely focusing on profits. Their community engagement and participation-driven approach is commendable.

• Administration & Visibility: TalentProjX’s efforts to showcase their expertise and create economic impact within communities are essential. Social exposure plays a significant role in reaching potential participants, and I’m glad you were part of this initiative.

• Timing Matters: While the program’s short duration (four weeks) may seem brief, it’s understandable given the goal of reaching a wide audience. Hopefully, progress evaluations in the future will allow participants to see the fruits of their entrepreneurial journey.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
When looking back at the Entrepreneurship Development Course, if I had the chance to go through it again, I would prioritize further developing a strong support system. Although the course material and guidance from a mentor are important, a supportive group of fellow entrepreneurs can offer extra perspectives, motivation, and chances for collaboration. Making connections with people who have similar objectives can make the entrepreneurial path less isolated and more fulfilling. 🌟
Pros
  • structured learning
  • networking opportunities
  • personal & professional growth
Cons
  • Short duration
  • Intense experience
  • Adoption challenges

Good

I enjoyed my experience with talent projects, they have made a great impact not only on my business mind but my life in general. The extra activities after finishing the course which are helping me build more on my businesses are highly appreciated. I always refer people because I myself got a step in the right direction from these courses and still am continuing on educating myself more and growing as a business woman. I look forward to new opportunities provided by them as I learn more and better ways to conduct my business.

Experience with the program

The program helped me with getting out of my shell and enhanced a great deal of confidence in me. I'm now able to approach stake holders with ideas I have and have sinced realized that no idea is a bad idea, if you put it out there, you might actually find out that it's even bigger than you thought. My thinking patterns have changed and I go harder for what I believe in, all thanks to the program. I now know for sure the path that I want to follow since taking this course, I had some uncertainties, but not anymore.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Presenting our group's progress of the project to our fellows. I felt like hidding whenever I was called to the front.
I overcame that by voluntarily doing the presentations and doing that frequently. By the end of the program, I was fearless. I actually enjoy presenting now.

A great learning experience.

My experience was eye-opening and impactful. I learned so much about the challenges that people from low-income communities face in South Africa. I didn't realize all the things they lack that I take for granted. It gave me a whole new perspective on life and newfound appreciation for the little things. People who participate in this course should expect to think outside the box and put themselves in the shoes of others. They will learn to empathize with the people they intend on helping to find the best solutions for the problems they have. They should also be prepared to work with others in a team and push themselves out of their comfort zones. This is an excellent course to take for those looking for a challenge and a chance to create jobs in low-income communities.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Hosting and organizing an event with no previous experience.
Pros
  • Learned new skills.
  • Gained valuable information.
  • Met amazing people.
Cons
  • I didn't have enough time to organize and market the event properly.
  • Not enough financial support.

Go to South Africa!

My experience in South Africa was absolutely AMAZING! I did so many things and discovered so much about the world and myself in only 7 weeks. I gained a lot in maturity and in self-confidence. I met so many people from different cultures and different parts of the world.
In addition, South Africa is a beautiful country. It has a lot of nature, animals and biodiversity like no where else I've ever been to!
Thanks to TalentProjX I got to meet and work with underprivileged South Africans. I got to know them from an inside perspective and not just as a tourist. We worked shoulder to shoulder in order to create projects that would solve some of the big problems that they face. That was amazing, because it was not just me helping them it was all of us working together, making our brains work in order to improve the world!
I highly recommend that you join this, surely, life changing experience and hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
You should be open to and interested in discovering other cultures, other ways of living, other experiences and view points...
You shouldn't be too stressed with punctuality, people are often late in this part of the world but are also much friendlier!
