Old and new come together in Fukuoka

Learn Japanese in Fukuoka during our Summer Camp. Fukuoka is a lively city on the southernmost main island of Japan. It’s a place where old and new come together. People here are very friendly, and the food is amazing, especially the ramen—Hakata style is a must-try! The city is not too big, so it’s easy to get around and explore. Stay in a residence with other students and enjoy the best of Japan!

Beautiful Temples in Kyoto

The Nacel summer camp in Kyoto is a great opportunity for teenagers aged 14-19 to learn Japanese language and culture. Students stay with local host families and take classes every week. They also participate in cultural activities like tea ceremonies and manga drawing. Kyoto, with its beautiful temples and old buildings, is a perfect place to explore Japanese traditions. This camp is good for beginners who want to know more about Japan and improve their Japanese language skills.

Fabulous Fukuoka

The school was helpful in teaching keigo and honorifics. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I met many students who were interested in touring local towns and having adventures. The weekend trips were very fun and well organized with a lot of activities planned. The host family was very nice and helped a lot with learning Japanese culture and also just practicing the language in general. Speaking only in Japanese in the house really made me feel fully immersed in Japan while I was there.

It’s wonderful that you enjoyed learning keigo and honorifics, and that the school staff made you feel welcome. We’re also glad that the weekend trips and activities helped you connect with other students and explore the local area. It sounds like your host family made a big impact on your language learning and cultural immersion too!

The large spiders can definitely be a surprise! We hope the amazing food and friendly people made up for any spider encounters. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you back to Fukuoka someday!
