What is your favorite travel memory?
My husband and I are a little "abnormal" and decided to do a backpacking honeymoon to the Transkei in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
We visited a mystical little mountain village called Hogsback on the way, got lost in a 100-year-old forest and then moved on to Coffee Bay, off the beaten track, on the Coast of the Transkei. The rolling hills and gorgeous battered coastlines are picturesque and provided the perfect backdrop for the lifestyle we immersed ourselves in for two weeks.
We surfed, met people from all over the world, participated in and gained an understanding of the beautiful, ancient Xhosa culture and ate some of the best seafood you could ever find. Top that with some of the most amazing hiking trails and you have a holiday we will return to time and time again.
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
I've only been with GVI for one day, though I'm sure there's loads of growth and change to look forward to.
If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?
Definitely Fiji. It offers a combination of everything I love - happy humans, a beautiful natural landscape, gorgeous creatures, interesting cuisine and a culture with a big heart!
What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?
GVI is inspiring! Everyone is sincerely passionate about making a difference and cultivating a culture that does so too.
It is a privilege to wake up in the morning and know that you are able to make a difference in the world today and be surrounded by people who feel inspired to do the same.
It enables us to set an example for the generations to come and contribute to a massive impact all over the world!
What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
A company's success rests on a few factors. First and foremost, a group of people who are equally passionate about achieving a common goal; followed by a keen focus on both staff and client satisfaction as well as making sure that you are able to deliver on the promises you make.
