Robert founded English Wizards back in 2018 after spending a few months in the industry, he saw how desperately teachers & schools needed help. From both the recruitment process for schools as well as foreign expats making the big move to Poland. He's always trying to help those to make a positive difference in Poland. Honoring his Polish grandparents memory fight for a better future.

What is your favorite travel memory?

I'm a master scuba diver so I absolutely adore water and exploring this side of the world. The most recent adventure was in the Philippines where I was able to swim with the whale sharks and a sardine bait ball. Truly an amazing feeling. I use all of these moments and memories to create travel blogs and reels for social media as my personal hobby.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I've realized that in the beginning back in 2018, we were trying to do too much for everyone. It's always nice to have a dream but at the end of the day we had to learn to be more realistic. Rather than focus on several aspects like schools, immigration and new arrivals, we slowly made a transition to leveraging on IT, Ai and automations so that we could focus on the experience of our customers. The teachers, digital nomads and travelers!

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

The most motivational stories I heard was not specifically from the language aspect but that a teacher is meant to inspire, motivate and lead students to a better future. Showing them a better way and embracing the pursuit of knowledge as a forever journey and a fun one. To hear how students have progressed in their personal and professional lives as a result of teachers is heart warming.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

If I did it all over again and found EW when I first arrived in Poland, for sure it would be the digital nomad program. As an entrepreneur it would have created a foundation for me to run with various ideas, test and trial them until I would have found my place here in Poland. Thankfully, I have a Polish passport so my journey was a little different.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Over 6 years there have been many moments. From managing the ever changing immigration landscape in Poland to becoming certified by Cambridge University to offer some of their courses. I believe EW is unique as we always promote an entrepreneurial mindset and embrace education and knowledge which upskills everyone to take personal responsibility for all aspects of their lives. Overall, I'm truly proud of the team providing a unique experience for expats.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

The team should feel empowered to make change and always pursue their life goals and passions. Everyone's role is moldable and changeable and I encourage everyone to treat their roles as their own businesses. Fostering this and community spirit topped with transparency all drive a company to success.
