Berlitz Dublin

Why choose Berlitz Dublin?

Around the corner from Sweny's Chemists, immortalized in James Joyce's Ulysses, is Number 5 Merrion Street Lower, a 3-storey Georgian house and the home of Berltiz Language Centre, Dublin.

You may well ask what the Joycean connection is. Well, between 1905 and 1914, Joyce taught English at the Berlitz schools in Trieste, which was then an Austrian city, but is now in Italy, and Pula, which was also part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but is now the fifth largest city in Croatia.

Until 2008, the Berlitz Centre was located in Dun Laoghaire. In the same year, the company decided to mark its 130th birthday by relocating to the City Centre. Going further back in time, Berlitz occupied several homes from Grafton Street to Lower Leeson Street.
