Amazing experience

Learning with MyTefl was an amazing experience. It was easy to use and the content was engaging. The customer service was very helpful when I needed it. I took the extra course in online learning which I found relevant as teaching English as a second language online is becoming more popular. I am looking forward to using my new found knowledge of teaching English as a second language in the future both online and abroad. I am confident that MyTefl will help me find the best placement abroad to use my new skills.

A wonderful 140-Hour TEFL Certification - Perfect for new college grads

I chose to contact MyTefl due to the positive reviews I saw posted online via both websites and personal blogs. I first contacted Mytefl.com with questions and all were happily answered (quite quickly) by Mislav. When I decided to take the course, I shared my college transcripts as a way to get 50% off my course since they offer a full-time university student discount. This made their already well-priced courses even more affordable. They quickly issued my discount and I happily began my 140-hour master course. As a non-education major who is seeking a job overseas, I found the MyTefl course easy to navigate and understand. I also loved the free tutoring they offer if any questions arise when you are completing their courses. Additionally, the material and quizzes are engaging and the MyTefl platform was easy for a novice like me to navigate. I also appreciate that this fabulous company offers a built-in library with a vast number of teaching resources their students and alumni can use in their careers, in addition to job placement assistance. I honestly have no complaints and highly recommend this wonderful TEFL course to anyone who is seeking a TEFL certificate or wishes to teach overseas.

What would you improve about this program?
I honestly feel the MyTefl.com courses are well-structured and ideal for anyone seeking a TEFL certification, whether they are in education or in another field like myself. Therefore, I would not change anything :-)

A Teaching Certification that Prepares You Well

I was initially in contact with Vincent at MyTEFL. He offered customer service that hit home. With how he responded to my initial email and considering that he offered me what I needed so that I could get started, I am grateful I chose MyTEFL. Regarding the reading material, I was initially expected that I would have to watch videos, but upon paying, I found that it was all in written form, which worked out well for me because everything was succinct and well-thought out. I'm now ready to move to Chengdu China!

What would you improve about this program?
Maybe you could include a city-focused job locator feature.

MyTEFL

The subject matter is thorough and well formatted. The regular use of short review quizzes is good for the student to keep on top of each unit of study.
As an inexperienced on-line learner, the course built my self confidence.
The presentation of teaching strategies is solid and sensible. However I suspect someone new to teaching might feel more reassured with some visual examples to illustrate the concepts. In my case this was not necessary as I am an experienced teacher, in fact I have mentored and tutored many first year placements and student teachers. This is their most significant field of self doubt. Usually the content is their strength.
As I said this course gave some very succinct and helpful advice on teaching strategies.

What would you improve about this program?
As detailed above, I believe some visual strategies of classroom teaching would round out this course for those with no teaching experience.
Just saw opportunity for photo upload, and that is not relevant in my case.

What is your favorite travel memory?

Wow! A tough question. There are a lot. Visiting an Old Believersā€™ village in Siberia, zip-lining in Thailand, going to Zhanjiajie in China, home of sandstone pillars that inspired the ā€˜floating peaksā€™ in ā€œAvatarā€, seeing the worldā€™s largest complete dinosaur fossil collection in Ulaanbaatar and exploring coral reefs in the Philippines are some of them.

Iā€™ll probably tell you a story of visiting Yunnan Nationalities museum in Yunnan, China. It covers a huge territory, and you can spend a whole day there. I saw homes, clothes and customs of over 50 minorities in China. This diversity struck me, even taking into account the big size of China.

It gets one to think about the world as an incredibly rich place, with hundreds of different cultures on the planet. We are truly lucky to see that.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

As an educator with 14 years of teaching experience, years of ESL management and teacher training, I always knew what being a second language learner or a new teacher was like.

However, I was never part of the journey students take after the course is over. This job gave me a chance to learn about another side of the sphere I work in.

It turned out to be very exciting, and as education is one of the fastest developing spheres of life (including the breakthrough of blended learning and international education that we observe nowadays), thereā€™s always a lot to learn.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

That would most likely be Teaching in China. This would be one of the most rewarding jobs ever. Chinese students are extremely hard-working, and they are motivated, too.

Kids are familiar with interactive approaches to learning from the young age, and hundreds and thousands of adults, who youā€™d think would be set in their own way and use more traditional study methods, challenge themselves in order to become more successful.

Besides, there are always professional development opportunities, and as teaching is a many-sided career, China an educatorā€™s heaven.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Iā€™m going to say, successful companies always develop. They need to be proactive and open to new opportunities, but they always remember why they are there and what their goal is. Not every company can change the world, but every company can become best at what they do.

They value their people, because each of them can contribute to the companyā€™s greatness. You never know what (or who) will become a new inspiration for you, your customer or the company.

Prioritize your external and internal customers, be attentive to details, keep learning and trying out new things and surround yourself with people that share the same passion, and youā€™ll become successful. Greatness is in simple things.
