WAS Marketing and Media Manager

What person active in social media wouldn't like to have great pictures and videos in their grid? Nowadays is really helpful to have any Marketing knowledge, either if you have a business and need to communicate appropriately or if you want to improve your social media accounts. They teach you from the basics of marketing to how to edit photos and videos. How far can you go with this program? After finishing the Marketing and Media Manager program, my partner and I started a side-hustle (@maria.collars on Instagram) by taking advantage of the knowledge earned.

Pros
  • Whistler
  • From basics to pro
Cons

WAS Marketing and Media Manager

As a Graphic Designer, I'm always involved in communication and marketing projects without knowing much about the field. After finishing the program, I started a side-hustle here in Whistler using much of the knowledge earned. It was a perfect starting point as they teach you from the basics to organizing a branded event or managing social media. Also, I really enjoyed the Photo and Video courses; imagine that your class is at the ski or bike resort or in the middle of the woods. It is the perfect location to learn photography and videography if you want a great Instagram profile.

Pros
  • Is Whistler
  • Easy to learn
  • Network
Cons
  • Housing
  • Work Hours

From 0 to be a bike guide in less than 6 month!

After several year working as an engineer in Italy I decided to make a change and pursue my passion for biking. So, I moved to Squamish and took the bike guide training with Whistler Adventure School. After first few weeks of training I started to apply to guiding jobs and I had been hired as a canoe guide and bike guide with two different companies.
My experience with this training is definitely positive. After one year, I am still working as guide and coach and I love it. I am glad I did this training.
To conclude I would like to say that in order to have a wonderful and successful experience like mine it is important that you will approach this training with the right attitude. The same when you'll apply for a job as a guide or coach.
I really hope this review help you decide. In any case I am willing to have a chat with you if this can help you decide!

Pros
  • Location
  • Training
  • Jobs opportunities
Cons

I had lots of fun participating in the ski guide training at WAS. Personally, I barely had any experience at ski touring, so everything I know now it’s because of this course, which is a lot. It helped me to become a more confident skier, learnt a lot of things about the mountain and safety tips. I keep recommending it to my friends, but I think it might be a little bit too easy for some experienced people. The social environment was good, I met a lot of nice people and everyone tries to help each other as much as possible.

Pros
  • Learnt a lot
  • Lots of adventure
  • Made good friends
Cons
  • A little bit pricey
  • A little bit disorganized sometimes
