Arabic for Journalism Program in Arabeya

For those who wish to achieve profiency in Arabic journalism and media language, we offer Media Arabic. This course gives students the skills to access news information and to be able to deeply analyse media texts in Arabic. They will be introduced to media jargon and the specific kinds of structures and styles used.

The student will be exposed to a wide variety of written and audio-visual sources with topics ranging from natural disasters to contemporary Middle Eastern politics, in order to fully expand on the learner’s four skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing. Moreover, there will be a focus on grammar as well as the stylistic and semantic aspects of Arabic linguistic formulations of media speech and texts.

The goal is for students to be able to deeply understand journalistic texts and ultimately write their own press articles.
