About Program
Study Abroad with Florida Film Academy in TRANSYLVANIA, ROMANIA
Nestled in the heart of Romania, Count Kalnoky’s Castle and Guest House in the Transylvanian Village of Mikslovar/Miclosoara is our base for this unique filmmaking experience.
Instruction in screen writing, cameras and cinematography, direction and production will be interwoven with an exploration of this remarkable region. Field trips include Bran Castle, the legendary, fictional home of Bram Stokers Count Dracula. Alma Cave in the Gorge of the Vargyas River where legend says the Pied Piper hid the children of Hamelin and a trip to the beautifully preserved Saxon Village of Viscri, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Many of our students have won film festivals with the work they achieve in our PreCollege courses – perfect for ongoing college applications! Transylvania truly is a living film set and we’ve been given a unique opportunity to use this stage for our 2019 Pre College film making experience.
