YFU High School Study Abroad Program in Uruguay

Whether you're a beginner or advanced in Spanish, you'll have the opportunity to learn the language and practice with native speakers, including your classmates and host family. They'll also introduce you to the local customs in Uruguay. As you explore the beaches and lagoons of this South American country, you'll grow to appreciate Uruguay's natural beauty. It is the friendships that you make with classmates & your host family, however, that will make a lasting impact on your life.

YFU Uruguay offers a special language immersion program for six weeks for students interested in a summer program. Students live with a host family and are enrolled in a Spanish language course at Academia Uruguay, spending their mornings in class before participating in afternoon extracurricular or cultural activities. YFU organizes activities that include visiting a traditional ranch, attending carnivals and football matches while you grow your language skills!
