Teacher Ambassador Program

The “Teacher Ambassador Program” (TAP) trains and employs Americans as high school instructors – and ambassadors of the American style of teaching – in China.

The program is unique in that it trains participants to merge the eagerness, intelligence and expectations of a Chinese classroom with American styles of teaching (project-based learning, dialogue, critical thinking, etc.), and Teacher Ambassadors will draw on the experience of current American teachers in China to learn about a range of (optional) opportunities to engage their classroom in community service activities that are meaningful, realistic and culturally appropriate.

Teacher Ambassadors receive full-time pay, free housing (in modern apartments) and good benefits. They can teach a variety of subjects, depending on experience, in English at public magnet schools in 13 Chinese cities.
