About Program

The DREAM Project is accepting volunteer applications for our 5-week Summer Camp Volunteer experience!

Each year, DREAM Project recruits up to 50 volunteers from around the world to work in our annual summer camp program. Volunteers receive a full week of orientation before collaborating with local Dominican teachers and volunteers to lead the four-week educational summer program for primary school youth.

Summer program volunteers work as a teacher, classroom assistants and class instructors. All classes, except for ESL camps, are taught in Spanish, so a firm grasp of the Spanish language is required.

Every volunteer must provide proof of vaccination with their application. Participants must be fully vaccinated two weeks prior to arrival and must be available to attend entire camp.

Our application is available at our webpage.

Yes, I recommend this program

I fell in love with the waves

My experience with the Dream project was the best that I could have expected. We were accommodated well, provided housing and delicious meals. The children we worked with were supper sweat and the kindest that I ever had the honor of working with. After just three short weeks I felt like I had absorbed as much of the culture as I could. Each day was a pleasant adventure and I would recommend this program to anyone. I have traveled to a few countries but something about the DR is magical, so much I went back again! The staff was amazing and good at what they do year long!

What would you improve about this program?
This program could be improved by making sure all volunteers speak enough Spanish to communicate with all the children.
