Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate Program

Georgetown University's CLED Special Programs office offers a unique TEFL Certificate that blends online coursework with an on-site teaching practicum. This is an intensive 19-week, 240-hour program that includes one-on-one interaction with our instructor. Students graduate from the program with a teaching portfolio that demonstrates their particular skills and is tailored to their personal and professional interests. The online portion of the course can be completed from anywhere in the world on any schedule, while the practicum gives students an opportunity to create lesson plans and work with English language learners in the Washington DC community.
