About Program
Embark on a transformative journey with the Modisa Wildlife Project, founded in 2010 by Valentin Gruener from Germany and Mikkel Legarth from Denmark. Set in the heart of the Kalahari Desert, this project offers an unparalleled opportunity to engage in wildlife monitoring, conservation education, and direct conservation efforts. Volunteers are invited to immerse themselves in the preservation of the diverse ecosystem, encountering remarkable wildlife such as Sirga the lioness, known from the "Saving Sirga" series. Beyond wildlife encounters, Modisa provides a comprehensive understanding of sustainable conservation practices against the backdrop of the Kalahari's majestic landscapes. As the day gives way to night, the desert unveils its serene beauty, offering moments of reflection under the vast, starlit sky. Join us to contribute to a meaningful conservation effort, deepening your connection with the natural world in one of its most pristine settings.
