About Program

Globe Aware in Vietnam
Vietnam’s Socialist government have made many improvements to move Vietnam forward and out of poverty in the past few years. The government has opened their economy for trade and building affluence. Many will see the old and new revolutions made in Vietnam but they will also notice that the country is still in desperate need for help. They will see the townspeople living in makeshift houses and in low living conditions with no education or way to better their situations.

Work Project
Globe Aware Volunteers will work hard on projects to help build up Vietnam’s sustainability in the small village outside of the city of Hoi An. Volunteers will teach locals English and colloquialisms, work with children, build better homes and refurbish schools in the area, work inside primary and kindergarten schools. Volunteers will help in any way possible to raise the standard of living in the area.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Vietnam

The trip allowed the children that we taught to have better opportunities in the future by being able to speak better English. The trip allowed me to see a different culture. It was a great experience to see and understand their daily struggles, and also their high points. Our guide was very helpful. Vin did a great job of translating and keeping us informed as well as showing us around when opportunities existed. The experience helped me to understand how buitiful the Vietnamese people are.
