A good course, overall

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the course and it had a lot of value. The Text & Talk Team came all the way to the Airport to pick me up and dropped me at the apartment. The team was very accommodating and a great group of individuals.

The Course Trainers, Ben and Miki were very professional and were always willing to help and guide us. They would coach us on how to be effective teachers and they taught us many useful skills. Some of the many skills taught were body language, presentation and adapting to the classroom and its students. The amount of information and skills presented can be quite intimidating, but once you learn and have a greater understanding, it all becomes second nature.

The admin team were Charles and Zelum. They went through a lot of trouble to ensure our experience in Thailand was as good and pleasant as possible. Things that are often overlooked such as the media, accommodation, trips, Visas and interviews were all taken care of.

We went to a Corporate Training class and had the chance to interact with the staff. This class enhanced our understanding of many of the skills taught in class. You have to be able to keep your students – whether they are kids or adults – entertained and focused.

Next, we were to do our Practice Teachings at a Thai Private School. We had groups of young learners and also high school students. At first, I was very nervous because I did not know how the student would react to my lessons. After finishing my first class, I realized that there was more to teaching than just speaking in front of the class about a topic. There was acting, presenting, having fun and so many other skills that came into play. All these skills that were taught by the Trainers now made much more sense. My remaining lessons were much more relaxed and fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

I had a great time in Bangkok, and I want to thank the team at Text & Talk TEFL Academy. We had learned so much over the course of 3 weeks and I will not forget any single moment! I am also very grateful for everything that has come to be. I made some great friends during the course, and I will cherish the great memories and experiences. I have graduated knowing I have the ability and confidence to conduct a great lesson.
