Online Spanish Classes with Tico Lingo

I took classes with Tico Lingo at their school in Costa Rica and loved the experience. I learned a lot and was able to speak Spanish really well but haven't practiced in the past few months. Once I heard they were offering online classes, I signed up right away. It's so nice to reconnect with the fantastic people and brush the dust off my Spanish and start using it again. The face-to-face connection on zoom is great! I started at 2 hours a week and bumped up to 5 hours a week. Definitely recommend!

My online experience has surprisingly been great! I was a bit skeptical about the whole virtual/online Spanish class thing, but am actually seeing my Spanish speaking skills accelerate way faster than when I was using online mobile apps. I really love working face to face with someone, hearing their native accent, conversing and having the opportunity to try out new vocabulary.. It makes a huge difference! I'll never go back to the robot voice of duolingo, FluentU or Rosetta stone. It's comforting to have someone on the other line that actually wants to see me progress. Making a new friend in different country, and learning a new language feels like a huge achievement, success, and distraction from the scary world of Covid-19 right now. HIGHLY recommend Tico Lingo! Loved absolutely everything about this course! I have learned more Spanish with Tico Lingo online than I did for six years at school. The best and most effective part was learning from a local which not only worked wonders for my pronunciation challenges :) but also helped me learn about Costa Rican culture. I have finally overcome my fear of speaking Spanish which, according to my teacher Freddie, is a natural part of the language learning journey. I am now really motivated to go to Costa Rica and start using what I have learned..

I would absolutely recommend online Spanish classes with any of the wonderful teachers at Tico Lingo. I have been doing online classes with Tico Lingo for about 3 weeks. My teacher is Freddy Fraiñas. We have been working on preparing me to take my bilingual certification test. We practice grammar, conversation and writing. I am really enjoying my time with Tico Lingo and my Spanish has improved immensely. I wish that I could be in Costa Rica right now, actually taking these classes in person, but this is the next best thing!
