All the support was exceptional and Lisa was an amazing tour guide. Highly recommend đź‘Ť. I now have a much better idea of the routes I would like to pursue during my upcoming time here in New Zealand.

Aggy was the best!

This has been one of the best tours iv been on! Aggy made the tour amazing, she was so welcoming and friendly, and went out of her way to make our trip special.
Nothing was to much trouble for her, and she made everything fun!
The only suggestion I would make is the accomodation in Gili T, while the Gili Mansion was good, it was a party hostel and at times it was to busy and to loud.
I would rather have stayed somewhere quieter, as one of our party was ill there, and they could not get any rest, and then go to the part hostels if we wished.
I have made memories I will never forget!!

What would you improve about this program?
The only improvement I would make is to change the last 2 destinations around. So end in Ubud.

Ultimate Bali

Our tour guide, Aggy was amazing - such a sweet, kind and caring person . Aggy definitely wasn’t just a tour guide but became a friend too and we loved spending time with her. Aggy was very supportive in all our activities and made herself available for contact 24/7- she was very informative and taught us all about the culture of Bali - her English is excellent and she was so kind that she fitted things into our itinerary that weren’t even listed for our trip because she knew we would love to do them and she managed this without missing anything else out !! Thank you Aggy for such a wonderful trip ! She also made my birthday very special with a personalised cake !! Aggy is a wonderful tour guide and We were llucky to have her :) my favourite parts of the trip were surfing and snorkelling .thank you to my lovely group and to Aggy ! Thanks ultimate Bali !

What would you improve about this program?
The only things I would suggest would be to have the hostel as a shorter visit (3 nights is a long time in a hostel!) or perhaps have the nice hotel at the end of the trip rather than the hostel :) and also to let people know how many will be on their tour more than two or three days before the trip begins as I was shocked to find out I only had four other people with me !! I was disappointed as I booked the trip especially so meet lots of new people and it was too late for me to cancel finding out at this stage ... I think people should have the option of cancelling when you think there will be about 15 people and two days before find out there are only five ! Luckily my group were so lovely and I had a fantastic time !

Aggy is awesome

What made the tour was Aggy! Without her, the tour wouldn’t have been nearly as good. Friendly, informative and so much fun. If you get her as your group leader, count yourself very lucky.
The only downside would be the last hostel. I think it would have been better to stay in a quieter place, and not the party hostel. Then you have the choice to go to it or not, instead of having people outside your room doing shots at 9:30am.

Also, do the climb up Mount Batur! It’s worth it, trust me :)

What would you improve about this program?
Change last hostel

Aggy was amazing

Had an amazing time on ultimate Bali, aggy made the experience even more special. She was more of a friend than a tour guide. She was very flexible and would try and fit in anything extra we wanted to see. Aggy was very knowledgable and so friendly she made us all feel so comfortable and at home here. The tour was very well organised, there was a range of activities and I really enjoyed them all and got to see so many different areas of Bali. Would definitely recommend this trip and aggy she is a star.

What would you improve about this program?
I would have liked a different hostel in Gili T as it was a party hostel so very loud.

Why did you choose this program?

The main reason my boyfriend and I chose this program was for its location. We only had 3 weeks as I was on spring break, and this had the perfect time frame. We were happy with the itinerary and was happy with where the trip finished off so we could continue on our way. Things that were very appealing to us was the surf lesson, the morning hike, the local cooking class, the snorkeling, and the temple exploring day.

What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

For the ten days, we were with the group our accommodation was taken care of, and we were put up in very nice places up until the last one. The trip included activities like a surfing lesson, local cooking class, snorkeling and others which were all organized for us. We had to organize our own food, and find things to do when there was free time. We were unlucky and had a very unhelpful guide, she couldn't point us in the direction of any of the things we asked, and rarely answered our questions. This trip would have been greatly improved had our guide been more knowledgeable and not there for her own holiday.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

I would tell them that you do not always have to follow the group. As an example, the one night we were going for group dinner on the beach to watch the sunset, except for the place we ended up going to was very touristy and extremely expensive. We ended up leaving the group to find dinner, where we found the most incredible Thai restaurant that was 1/3 of the price too! That is only one example of many occasions where we had fun when a few of us found more local experiences.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

The hotels provided a small breakfast, and on most days we would have time to eat before starting the activities for the day. It was very organized with good communication on where to be and at what time. Every day is very different though so you get to experience a lot. There is a decent amount of travel time during this program, just because locations are a little spread out, but once you're outside of Kuta the traffic gets better, and it takes less time to commute to the next destination.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

It was the first time I was bringing my professional camera equipment with me, and I was nervous about theft or damage. I did have insurance on it, but the backpack I purchased for the trip provided the security I needed to feel safe with it. I have never been and never once was worried about my safety, weather concerns, or any other typical fears people have of being abroad.

What were the highlight(s) of the trip?

During the program, the biggest highlight for me was on the party night. The guides organized it so we could go club hopping, but when they decided to go to fancier clubs that you had to pay to get into half of us decided we were done for the night. We ended up getting scooter rides back and they got lost, we were racing each other trying to get home first, cheering on the local who was driving us! It was even a highlight over when we rented scooters on a later day.

Becca and her team want to share their love of traveling with their customers through hands-on experience and memorable group adventures.

What is your favorite travel memory?

When traveling in Thailand, I once confused a bum gun for a shower head... Didn't hear the end of that one for a while.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I've turned my passion for traveling as a backpacker into a living! Having worked for Ultimate for over three years, I've met people from across the globe, each with a different story. I like to think that Ultimate has played a grand part in their story.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

A couple was having such a good time on their Ultimate Thailand tour that the boy decided to propose. He figured, why not do it in a magical place surrounded by new friends. She said yes!

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Ultimate Bali! In my opinion, it's the best all-rounded tour: temples, nights out, volcano trekking, monkeys, cooking class, island hopping, bumming on a beach - it has it all!

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

We're all travelers at heart. We've each been in our customer's shoes at one time or another and can truly relate to their emotions, whether that be excitement, anxiety, never wanting to return home (ha!) - we've been there. I'm proud of my team on the daily as they make each traveler's experience memorable and unique.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Integrity. What you see is what you get with Ultimate. We're passionate about our programs and you'll see that passion shine through from our operations team to our awesome guides leading your tour. We hope to create Ultimate tours that will make your holiday a once in a lifetime experience, that is until you travel with us again.
