Great experience

I highly recommend TTR to anyone looking to teach abroad. I worked with TTR and I had an amazing experience. Tomoko is a detail-oriented, very kind and flexible person. She will be with you all the step of the way, explaining all there is to know.

Tomoko is very professional. My move to Japan was stress free, because I had everything laid and planned way before I landed in Japan. She was truly concerned about my well being even after my placement in Japan. I call her my guardian angel. Thank you TTR

Great Experience

Currently, I have been in Aomori, Japan for almost a year and I am happy that I chose Tamaki TEFL Recruitment. Throughout the process, from first contact to my arrival and even after, my recruiter, Tomoko, has guided me and made constant contact to check on me. She is a respectful, sincere and very pleasant professional and I am truly grateful.
The information provided was completely honest and prepared me for my job as well as the environment in which I currently live. Prior to applying to my job and being contacted by TTR, I was cautions and concerned about the legitimacy of the job but all of these fears were squashed and I was able to also put my family at ease due to the information provided both online by the company and my recruiter and the diligence and professionalism of TTR. All processes and documentation for my employment and travel were done speedily and professionally. I was given helpful tips and any questions, no matter how mundane they felt to me were answered with kindness. I was given excellent feedback on how to improve my teaching, tips on the resources that I would need and how to acquire these resources. Even my location of employment was handled well, they do their absolute best to ensure your comfort by finding locations that fit your preference. Moving to a new country so far away and different from home can be diffcult but the preparation and assistance provided by Tomoko made it a much smoother transition . I have always been a scrutinizing person and I proud to say that I am 100% happy that I chose TTR and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend and have already recommended others to TTR. I know that anyone that uses this company will be given the best experience possible. Thank you for guiding me!

Tamaki TEFL recruitment is the absolute best!

Tomoko is the absolute best! From our first interview, she was transparent about everything. Therefore , even before proceeding with my application I knew a lot about the program and about Japan.

I can say Tomoko was with me all the way! I got all the support I needed on time , be it documents , information or an emotional shoulder therefore making my application process a breeze .Her support has not ended just because I have now settled in. She checks up on me here and there .

She is greatly organised and will ensure that your move is smooth. Thank you for being there , for your help and encouragement . Surely, I would not have made it without Tomoko Tamaki.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Ladies riding bicycles with their heels on! I mean, how do they do that so effortlessly and still manage to look like ladies ?

Living in Sunny Okayama!

I never thought I could ever live overseas, but after working with Tomoko it all materialised and immediately became reality!

She thought of everything from visa issues all the way up to what app I would need on my phone to be able to communicate with people. It made the process more streamlined than I could ever imagine, she's really great!

Now I'm living and teaching in Okayama, the sunniest and safest prefecture in Japan!

I can't recommend her enough, she's thoughtful and a great person!!

Your teaching experience in good hands

Teaching in Japan was an unforeseen next step in my teaching career in general, and I wanted to combine my desire for adventure with working in my field.

The minute I contacted TTR, I knew I was in good hands: Tomoko helped me throughout the entire process, which implies a great amount of unsavory paperwork to fill and ship. She made it seamless and yes, even enjoyable. As a recruiter, she made sure to get the most coherent scenario for me and shared information in a clear, timely and professional way. Tomoko also kept contact with me after I landed in Japan to know how things were and how I was adapting, which was a nice touch!

TTR is a great resource if you want to make teaching in Japan a seamless process and a unique experience. Thanks again!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Research and prepare accordingly. I would suggest viewing YouTube videos about life in Japan, but also how things work (public transport, how to pay bills, etc.) as they will be quite different. Get you paperwork straight and the process will be quite seamless.

Also, keep an open mind and be flexible: you won't get your ideal scenario all the time. Be amazed by the little things, explore, have fun, make connections with new people. Who knows when you will cross paths again...

TTR is Excellent!

Tomoko was a great help in getting me started on my new chapter in teaching abroad and I couldn't have done it with out her attention to detail, organization, and her encouragement. I was able to sort everything out and talk to the right people to get the right placement for myself and she was always there for me when I needed her.

I was aiming on a teaching in a big city in China, so when I landed on Beijing and got the offer, I was ecstatic. I couldn't have done it without the help of TTR.

I highly recommend TTR to anyone looking to teach abroad. The support from Tomoko and her team will be super beneficial to you. Whether or not you've worked abroad before, their professionalism will be one of the best assets you encounter on your journey to life abroad. Thank you TTR for all of your help!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Don't be afraid to ask questions! If you have any questions or concerns in any part of the journey, don't hesitate to ask.

Tamaki TEFL Recruitment is always helpful, always attentive to my needs, always concerned about my well being. They are very professional, and questions I had were always able to be answered. Everything was outlined to me regarding the way of living in Japan etc, which helped me tremendously when I arrived in Japan. The fact that Tamaki TEFL Recruitment show concern for my well being and truly care is really appreciated, and I am very thankful for this. I will forever be grateful to Tamaki TEFL Recruitment. Thank you Tamaki TEFL Recruitment for everything, really appreciate it :):)

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
Yam, it’s an acquired taste, but I like it. Yuzu is not an unusual fruit regarding flavor as it tastes similar to lemon and lime, but the citrus flavor in my opinion is sweeter which is nicer. I have never tried horse meat or eel since being in Japan and in all honesty will never try it, but if you are one with an adventurous palette, it’s recommended to try out.

An Empathetic Recruitment

I applied for a job with TTR several months ago and I can still remember how quickly the interview process was, and how thorough. Tomoko was always supportive, happy and willing to help, and she was so thorough in answering any queries I had about anything, from what I was to expect when I got to Japan in terms of training to how the culture itself differed from my own.
Tomoko was with me for every step of the preparation process once I had passed the interviews, always there when I needed her to guide me and answer questions and support me. Once I arrived in Japan itself she kept in contact, making sure I was settling in well and that I liked my school.
Tomoko is a very attentive, very empathetic and extremely hard working woman who goes out of her way to make sure that the people she employs are as happy and comfortable as they can be, and I would definitely recommend her.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Questions are your friends, and you can't learn if you don't ask them. Also, don't be afraid to make mistakes either! You will be a new employee and no one is expecting you to be perfect.

Questions & Answers

Hi Zac! I am pretty sure that everybody needs at least a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) to get the Japanese work visa. I can't speak for the other countries though. Also, there could be exceptions, but you should verify with the Japanese immigration site info: https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/index.html Hope it helped! Have a good one!
