Great experience

I cannot personally attest to the amazing experience I’ve had with OkRecruiting. From the onset, my recruiter, Jay Suh, demonstrated unparalleled competence and made what could have been a daunting process incredibly easy. His guidance was invaluable, particularly during the visa application, where he walked me through every step, making it a seamless experience.

Thanks to OkRecruiting and Jay’s efforts, I now find myself in a remarkable school with an exceptional working environment. The work culture is not only positive but also fosters growth and collaboration. The children I work with are well-behaved, contributing to a conducive and enjoyable teaching atmosphere.

Moreover, I am delighted with my apartment, and the settling-in process has been smooth. OkRecruiting not only fulfilled its promise but exceeded my expectations. I am thriving in my new environment, and I enthusiastically encourage others to consider using this platform for their professional endeavors. OkRecruiting, and particularly Jay Suh, have played a pivotal role in shaping this positive chapter of my career and life.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Most nerve wrecking moment was when I started teachers my co workers helped me overcome this by walking me through the process and work culture of the school step by step .

  • Getting to see new places

Sejong City ESL Teaching

I'm still new to everything but so far there are many places to eat just a few step out of my apartment building. Shops are all close by if you need anything, bigger shops you can easily take a bus ride to. People are kind and willing to help you if needed.

It is a small city so not many people will speak English so Google translate will be your best friend, it's also amazing at translating signs and food menus.

You will need a good winter coat, some gloves, and plenty of sweaters for the winter. I have not experienced summer here yet but I have been told it gets around 30 degrees Celsius .

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
I recommend you fly in a few days early to get adjusted to the time zone, recover from the flight, and have time to buy necessities before you begin your first day/training week.

Learning a few phrases or at least say hello and thank you in Korean can go a long way.

You will need a good winter coat, some gloves, and plenty of sweaters for the winter. I have not experienced summer here yet but I have been told it gets around 30 degrees Celsius .

You will need a translator app, especially if your in Sejong, not many people will be able to communicate in English.
Pros
  • shops and food are very close
  • people are very friendly and willing to help
Cons
  • Not many people speak English's in this smaller city so expect to have a translate app

OK Recruiting new job placement for South African already living in South Korea

I was assisted by Jay from OK Recruiting. I was already living in South Korea and I wanted to find a new job. Jay provided me with 2 great options and helped with the interview process and visa process. He was always available for any questions I had and he routinely checks in with me about my new job. I especially liked his promptness, I always received a response to my questions within a few hours and we corresponded many times about different topics/issues. I highly recommend this service, they are professional, timely, polite and helpful.

Pros
  • Quick, effective communication
  • Multiple opportunities were made available
  • Availability and friendliness
Cons
  • Some job postings were vague

Great Experience. Responsive and fast moving in getting me hired.

They were quick to find available options and get an interview set up when I made my choice. A lot of other recruiting agencies would take days or even weeks to reply back to my emails but my recruiter, Jay, was always timely with the replies. This was crucial when contacting him after I arrived in Korea and I needed responses to some things immediately such as on the first day of work. They also did a great job setting me up where I live and got me a taxi from the airport so I didn't have to figure things out for myself when I got to Korea which might have been a bitt difficult for a non-Korean speaker.

Pros
  • Get to live in Seoul
  • Lots to see and experience
Cons
  • A little bit difficult to get used to local things like the trash/recycling system

Great Communication and Helpful

I found Jay to be very easy to communicate with and he was very helpful during the entire process. He was quick to provide available teaching positions and was very good at setting up contact with the school. All replies were prompt and he was available from the beginning of the visa process to my arrival day in Korea. I am an experienced teacher and not many recruiters are worth recommending, but I would certainly recommend Jay and OK Recruiting for both new teachers and experienced teachers who are looking to teach in Korea.

  • Helpful
  • Professional

Great and helpful

I would recommend OK recruiting to others. When I was looking for a job I was nervous because I heard bad things about recruiters, but seriously Jay helped me so much. Anything I needed he was there to help, and always replied to my emails super fast. Jay also checked in with me several times after I started working, I really appreciated his help throughout this whole process. It can be very daunting to start the process of working abroad, but I assure you with OK recruiting you won’t have anything to worry about, your preferences and needs are taken seriously and you are treated like an individual that is important.
