The 180 hour OFQUAL level 5 TEFL Diploma course is a very comprehensive, well structured and globally recognised program. It provides aspiring educators with the knowledge, practical skills and tools needed for successful teaching in this field. There is an excellent support structure provided by the course instructors should you have any queries regarding the course content. The course’s commitment to relevancy is evident in its contemporary resources and case studies, ensuring that students are equipped with the latest methodologies and insights. I whole heartedly recommend this course to anyone seeking a top-tier TEFL qualification.

What would you improve about this program?

I would enhance the online learning experience by incorporating some LIVE interactive elements such as experiencing a virtual classes whereby students could participate in using breakout rooms for role plays, discussions or debates.

Pros

The comprehensive content. It covered absolutely everything you needed to know.
How easy it was to understand. Written in good English, in a clear, concise manner.
The staff! Excellent. Always on hand to answer any question.

Cons

More LIVE interactive content would be a bonus and a great learning experience.
Not having a search icon when doing the course. For example when writing a lesson plan and you wanted to find a specific thing, let’s say “schwa” you wouldn’t know this model to find it and had to flip different pages in different models. Time wasting.
I know it was on line course but would have also loved a hard copy book to accompany the course.

I took the 180-hour Level 5 TEFL Diploma option and I really loved it! It was easy to follow, well-structured and comprehensive. The topics covered were interesting and engaging. I have no doubt that this will help me in my professional progression. Rachel Walsh was always kind and available in case of support or additional information. This course really improved my knowledge of the subject, and I had a great experience taking it. I certainly recommend both the course and the Institute. Thank you very much!

What would you improve about this program?

Lesson was good and you can finish in a short time. Highly recommended!!! if you are looking to live abroad and work and experience something new. A-lot of time the opportunity are better with this qualification and your BA to get a good pay job and affordable living expenses. The company will help you with any thing you need help with. Also having this qualification and teach over seas you can update your resume with the info of what you did and it can help you get an even better job where you are from.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Learn everything

I've just completed the TEFL course and I am very happy! The course was clear and easy to understand. The course covers all the essential topics for teaching English as a foreign language. I feel more confident now. The support from the instructors was great. They were responsive to questions and provided valuable feedback. I liked the flexibility of the course, it allowed me to learn at my own pace. I will recommend this TEFL course to anyone looking to become a qualified English teacher. It is very good investment in your teaching career!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

The most nerve-racking moment was when I got remarks about my work and I had to correct my answers.

This course is amazing. It really prepares a person to be a teacher, because the content is great, the explanation is clear, and the activities help to practice what we just learned.
When I needed support, they were there for me, and the answers didn't take long.
Every time an Assessment was sent, the results were up very fast too, and I could move on to the next lesson.
If you want to become a teacher, of you do not have any experience, or if do have a lot of experience and you want some refreshment, this is the course for you.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

I would change the pace I used to do it. I think I could have done it faster.

Online course, which allowed me to take it anywhere.
Clear explanations, contexts, activities.

Cons

Long Assessments, too many questions.
One question could display a large number of questions, which was really tiring.

I found this to be a well-laid-out and informative course. The coursework was easy to follow and the institute made it clear what they expected from you in the assignments. Corrections were returned speedily and there were plenty of extra resources available to help students built in within the website itself as well as plenty of helpful staff such as Rachel Walsh, that are a great bonus. I feel much more confident entering the world of teaching English now so overall, I am glad I completed this course and I would definitely recommend it to my peers.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

My advice would be to make sure you have clear, segmented study notes from the outset as in the beginning I found myself a bit unsure of which notes should be in their own chapter and which were a follow-on from the last topic. This became clearer the more I got used to the website layout but did result in me needing to rewrite notes from the first few chapters at a later point.

This was a very taxing course but extremely interesting and well worth the effort. At 64 years I am proud to have completed it and would love to get to teach online now, Rachel Walsh my tutor was great and helped me whenever I needed guidance. Thank you Rachel.
i am just concerned about the status of my other certificates (English Business and English Online and One-to-One - Both 60 Hours) plus my 10 hours Teaching Methodology.
The course overall was specific focused and on target. Thank you TEFL academy for the great experience.

What was your funniest moment?

To be honest I did not have any as I was so focused on completing my studies

I enjoyed doing the level 5 Diploma as I have always had a natural interest in the English language. My expectations were high from the outset and I was not disappointed. The breadth and depth of the course is impressive and I found the material overall to be very engaging. I learned quite a bit and have a newfound respect for the work that teachers do, particularly before they turn up to class! I have found my tutor Rachel at TEFL Ireland to be very responsive and she answers questions accurately and quickly. Leo was also very helpful with IT issues I encountered, which he quickly resolved. Thank you TELF Ireland.
