Great Experience!

I had a great experience with the guys at Build Abroad and during my stay overall. The trip itself was a good mix of fun, relaxing and work. Definitely a trip that I would take again! I highly recommend a trip if you're looking for a rewarding getaway.

The perfect balance of meaningful and impactful work with play

This program was a rewarding and fun experience for everyone on it. I hadn't met any of the participants in person before hand but turned out loving the team because of the way we worked together and interacted socially. This trip balanced physical work, getting to dig the foundation of a house for a disabled woman and her husband, with fun cultural and social events, such as playing soccer and having a Costa Rican BBQ to where I felt that I had made a difference and still experienced the culture and had a lot of fun. In San Ramon our dorm through our volunteer partners was clean and safe and the food was fantastic. The partners we worked with were very easy to work with and added positively to the experience. The time we spent relaxing in Manuel Antonio at the end of the week was the perfect relaxation experience wandering the rainforest and sailing on a catamaran after a week of doing good.

What would you improve about this program?
I would want the program to be longer. Building a house is a lengthy process and I would like to see a little more of the process after the digging stage. I would also like to have a way to keep in touch with the project as it progresses to a finished product.
