My experience in Hong Kong

Despite the fact that the decision to go to Hong Kong was extremely impulsive, it is most definitely the most valuable experience that I have had. It has helped hugely my experience on my CV and employers and lecturers have been extremely impressed. I was there for a month and really with I was there for 2! I had the most amazing time and met a great group of people, it was a great balance between the professional internship and the sightseeing. Would definitely recommend it and would definitely go again!

Hong Kong 2 Months Internship

Although it is quite hard to summarise the incredible 2 months I spent this summer, to answer the main question: it is worth every penny! I would suggest this program to whoever not only wants to relieve himself from the headache of all the logistics of organising an internship abroad but also to those who are looking to combine working in a different environment, which will make your CV stand out with a holiday exploring a diverse culture in a country that will surprise you!

The program is full of weekend events for leisure like going to Horse Races and Amusements Park and VIP Speaker events giving you insight into the life of people who's time is worth... well, you'll have to find out.

What would you improve about this program?
There is always a room for improvement. I would not change anything, however I think we could benefit from organising the logistic side of things more efficiently.

New Opportunities

I really had a positive internship experience during my summer in Hong Kong. I worked for a boutique consulting firm specializing in mobile technology in Asia, and I really learned a lot. The sector was relevant to my future goals, the accomodation was great (gym and pool included), and the food and general activities in Hong Kong were amazing. Absolute Internship makes the transition and cultural adaptation very smooth by first helping to find an internship, providing all the necessary things (such as a training visa, a pre-loaded Octopus card, a SIM card, etc...), speaker events to hear the opinions of industry leaders, and a community of like-minded interns to spend the summer with. Although it is true that everyone's internship experience is very individual and unique, I, for one, was very lucky to have had an enjoyable internship in a firm that I am continuing to work for, without having to worry about the logistics involved with living in a foreign country.

What would you improve about this program?
I would change the application process I think. Ideally, I would like to know what the realistic firms we would be interning at are and have an idea of everything before paying the initial deposit. Additionally, perhaps instead of declaring one sector (business development v. finance), it would be great to get an idea of what the individual has in mind, as the distinction between the 2 sectors can be ambiguous.

Hong Kong Summer Internship

The summer internship in Hong Kong, which is one of the leading financial cities in the world, is very helpful for me to prepare the next step, filling professional working experience on my resume. Since the company where I worked has a good training system, I have learned not only financial knowledges, but also professional networks in Hong Kong.

I think this valuable experience will help me to find a first job in Hong Kong as well as other financial hub cities in the world. I think I am lucky because of this great opportunity.
