Teach English in China Review

I took part in the programme a couple years ago, and I still think fondly of my time teaching in China. It was a joy to teach the children and experience the culture. The staff were friendly and I had lots of fun. In terms of facilities we stayed at a nice hotel nearby, lunches were provided, and we had an air conditioned staff room for break times. Mid-week we put on a show for the kids, and I remember all of us sang a Bruno Mars song. On the weekends there are a lot of beautiful places to visit. I would recommend to anyone to take part.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
My first class, a class size of over 50 kids, felt daunting at first. My teaching assistant greatly helped me overcome every obstacle. She was very helpful, and I am very grateful to her.

Highly Recommend

Going to China through Impact Teaching was definitely a great decision. You are always supported by the company, even when you move on from the placement. The application process is simple, and the help that you get during the visa process from both Impact Teaching and your school is invaluable, as it isn't always easy. During the training, you get to meet some great people that will become close friends, giving you more opportunities to travel around China. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to move abroad to teach.

Would definitely recommend Impact Teaching

Impact Teaching have been absolutely great in helping me get a teaching job in China. The company has been excellent in providing support and guidance both before getting to China and now that I'm here. Securing a position and a working visa would have been 100x more difficult without all their help and so I would definitely recommend Impact Teaching to anyone who is thinking of taking the plunge and moving to China.

Doing the TEFL training programme also meant that I have a large network of friends all over the country which is great for when I want to go travelling.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The most nerve-racking moment was stepping into my own classroom for the first time and standing in front of 40 Chinese kids.
I managed to overcome this by using the ice breaker activities I learned during my TEFL training to get to know and engage with the students

Excellent service

They successfully found me a job 3 times over the years in China and have always helped me throughout my time here (even during the pandemic). If your looking for a job overseas I strongly recommend this company.

They have been honest throughout (won't sugarcoat or exaggerate the experience/job) fair and always available to help!

I also recommend trying an experience abroad, its rewarding and great fun. Lots to learn and experience. This company will be super helpful in making your experience go smoothly and find you an excellent job.

Teach English In China Program 2018-2019

I joined Teach English In China as a undergraduate who had just finished university in the summer of 2018. The program was excellent as it placed me with a teaching company in Shanghai, China and supported me in the entire process of getting a working visa and moving abroad. As someone who is still living in Shanghai currently, I have Teach English In China to thank for giving me this opportunity and allowing me to move across the world to teach in China. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested in living and working abroad in a new and different environment.

Great experience - would recommend!

Going with this company was the best way for me to experience living in China. It allowed me to meet and travel with an amazing group of people, many of whom are still some of my best friends. The training provided was invaluable and a great way to quickly gain experience, and the initial summer camp was a challenging but rewarding way to acclimatise! I would recommend Impact Teaching to anyone whose considering moving to China, in my opinion the level of support you get and the people you meet make it exceptional.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The training centre in Beijing was nerve wracking at first - to be in an unfamiliar country with so many new people was overwhelming. However, spending 10 days at a summer camp teaching in smaller groups was an amazing experience (probably the best of my life) and a great way to build friendships. The people I met there are still some of my best friends today.

Amazing Experience!

Having been unsure what to do after my undergraduate, I was very lucky to have come across Impact Teaching. After an initial phone call to make sure I was the right fit, the application process was very straightforward.

Since the beginning of the journey, I was supported and have gained invaluable experience. From learning mandarin to understanding a whole new culture, the jump was most definitely worth it.

Working and living in China is such a great experience and I would highly suggest Impact Teaching if you are considering the adventure!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I were to start the process again, I would have started learning mandarin much earlier.

FANTASTIC experience with Impact Teaching, Thailand!

Impact Teaching really is a great company and I highly recommend using them! They provided help and assistance before and during my time in Thailand with a personal touch, this is very important when embarking on such a change in your life. Arnold is a great guy who is always there to offer support, as well as being genuinely nice and always up to hear how I am getting on. I know foreign teachers at my school who have used other companies to get to Thailand, who feel like they are treated as a number rather than a person, this will not happen with Impact Teaching. Also, these teachers have often paid a lot of money, whereas I found the cost of Impact Teaching very reasonable. The process of getting to Thailand was smooth and I love it here, there has been support and help all along the way. Now, I am settled at my school and in my town, it's awesome. Come to Thailand and let Impact Teaching help you get there!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Take everything in your stride and go with the flow, put 110% into everything and do it with a smile!

Impact Teaching are Great!

Impact Teaching are a great company to help you move to China to live and work. From the start their staff have been very professional, supportive and helpful. They help with every stage of the process and provide continued support throughout. Impact Teaching is definitely the best company to use if you want to start teaching in China - can't recommend them enough!
Since they helped me come to China, they have expanded to offer teaching positions in other countries and I'm sure the experience will be just as rewarding.

Great Summer Internship Experience in China!

I completed a summer internship through Teach English in China back in 2018, and can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Without TEIC I would not have known where to start, but they helped me organise everything from finding an initial placement to getting my visa and arriving in China. I felt fully supported right up until I left China, and even though I did not need any support whilst in China (because my hosts were amazing) it was nice to know that TEIC were there if I needed them.

It was also great to experience the internship with four other girls that I met through TEIC. It was my first time in China, so I was glad that I had a group to go with rather than travelling alone.

I would recommend TEIC to anyone who wants to teach in China!
