My internship abroad in Japan

I attended a 3 month internship abroad in Japan through AIP. I can say that everything, from the registration process all the way to the end of my internship, was extremely professional. Not only was I given a personal account manager (Nisha, thank you!) that constantly kept me up to date, even with a large time difference between us in my own country and also in Japan, but I was also placed into a group chat upon arrival in Japan with 3 AlP workers continuously inquiring about my wellbeing and asking if I ever had questions or concerns. I don't want to make this review to long, but I will say that there are many, many other things that l'd like to say I was thoroughly impressed with. I couldn't recommend AlP enough if you want a great internship experience abroad. Thank you again to everyone who made my experience that much easier.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I’m stuck in between saying the night life in Shibuya and the beauty of Mount Fuji 😂
Pros
  • The people/food
  • The friends I made
  • My work place and coworkers
Cons
  • My internship wasn’t long enough
  • Some food was kinda crazy
  • Idk honestly I can’t say anything bad

AIP is extremely professional. Their internship placement has given me one of the best experiences in my life, with many learning opportunities and a warm host company with lifelong friendships. I initially went for 3 months but ended up extending. The people over at AIP were nothing but helpful. I had an internship in the finance sector and I had learned a lot. I think the most important takeaways I have is the knowledge I gained through this internship and the relationships built during my short time here.

My 6-months Tech Internship

As a recent graduate entering the real-life coding world, these past 6 months have been a thrilling exploration. When I face challenges, I ask my teammates, learn from them, and work together as a team. My team's support has been crucial, and in these 6 months, I've accomplished my tasks in the project I've been involved in. There might be a language barrier for those who can't speak Japanese. For me, everything was better than what I had expected. Accommodation, travel, food, people, and culture are a perfect fit for me and I've just fallen in love with Japan. Thanks again, AIP for creating this path to my career journey.

Pros
  • Food and Drinks

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Since English is not their first language, you might have the biggest language barrier, while communicating with locals.
Whether you are studying or working there, you should be fluent in a conversational level.

Interned at WE CARE Community Services, Ltd.

AIP has a partnership with my university, so I was able to apply for free. Pricing was also more competitive than at many similar programs. Also, when I had a problem getting my Work Holiday Pass for Singapore, I thought I was not going to be able to go. Luckily, my coordinator at AIP was very helpful. We were able to work out a new plan, and everything worked out fine. Just be aware that, by applying, you are agreeing to pay for the program, so make sure you know you're ready beforehand. Also, if you're going to Singapore, make sure you apply for your Work Holiday Pass multiple weeks in advance!

Down Under Discovery

One of the standout aspects of my internship experience was the level of support and mentorship provided by both AIP and my host company. From regular check-ins to constructive feedback sessions, I always felt valued and supported in my growth and development. The guidance I received not only enhanced my technical skills but also helped me gain valuable insights into the industry and workplace culture in Australia.

Big thanks to my account manager who made sure a smooth placement process. This wouldn't be possible without the team's effort.

Smooth Sailing

My experience as an intern in South Korea would not have gone as smoothly and perfectly as it did had it not been for the support of Herlyn and everyone from AIP. Herlyn organised it all. From airport pick-up, to accomodation, to assigning me the most suitable internship organisation, I did not have to worry about a thing. As a result, this l meant that I could focus on my internship and exploring the country. I created unforgettable memories and cannot thank AIP enough for this wonderful opportunity :)

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I did this all over again, I would probably manage my time better. There was so much to explore that it was a shame that I did not have enough time to see everything.
Pros
  • Convenience
  • Subway
  • Lots of walking & stairs
Cons
  • Lots of walking & stairs
  • More conservative society

Memorable Internship

AIP was very helpful with my transition to South Korea. I would have struggled a bit without them as they helped me with the accommodation, airport pickup, my sim card, and public transport card. AIP assisted me whenever I needed to contact them but their response time would be 1-2 days, which is understandable since there were other students that needed to be taken care of. I personally wish AIP would reply within a day in case of assistance or emergencies. But overall, I had a terrific experience with the help of AIP and I wouldn't be able to do much without them. I recommend AIP for those wanting to travel abroad and be an intern in a country you wish to try.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Just be yourself and have fun experiencing the journey, you only do it once so make the most of it and continue the ride.

Internship/Adventure

My internship in Vietnam was like a big adventure! I got to dive into the world of marketing in a country full of energy and color. Every day was different and exciting. I worked in Ho Chi Minh City, where life never seemed to slow down. My job wasn't just sitting in an office; it was about exploring the city, meeting new people, and learning as much as I could. One of the coolest things was working with a startup trying to change how people get their food delivered. We brainstormed ideas, made plans, and saw our ideas come to life. It was amazing to see how passionate and determined Vietnamese entrepreneurs are. Thank you AIP team for making this possible.

Countryside experience in Thailand

My internship experience in Thailand, facilitated by AIP (Asia Internship Program), truly exceeded my expectations. Throughout my internship, I had the privilege of working alongside dedicated professionals and researchers who shared a common passion for protecting Thailand's natural heritage. Whether conducting biodiversity surveys in Khao Yai National Park or collaborating with local communities on sustainable agriculture initiatives, each project was a testament to the collective commitment to environmental stewardship.
To be honest, I was just expecting on working in an office doing paperwork but my host company made sure that I am also able to do field work which for me is such a privilege. My account manager also worked hard to find me a company that matched what I wanted to do and I am very grateful.
