I have had wonderful time studying through the TESOL course. The whole course was laid out in a highly compact and comprehensible manner. The language of the course, and examples made the experience of learning very lucid. Especially, the video aids have helped a lot in understanding the concept in a straightforward way. I intend to do a TEYL course as well. Thank you so much for a such fantastic learning experience! I would definitely recommend the course to aspiring teachers and friends who want to make a difference through education.

I appreciated that each chapter was short, allowing for an engaging pace that didn’t feel tedious. I believe this program offers exceptional value for its cost. It’s very well-structured, and the content is systematically developed. Another major advantage is being able to complete it online in a short amount of time. However, it’s unfortunate that there isn’t an opportunity to practice actual lessons. Thank you for providing such a great program at such an affordable cost. It was a great experience!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

I would make my own notes and keep it. Then I would use it for preparing my real classes.

A powerful course. Fun and interesting program. Rigorous. I interacted with the materials very well. Rekindled my love for the English language as it took me back to my primary school days of learning English as a home language. I enjoy the quiz-style, multiple-choice style of questioning. I needed this certification to build my skills, and to make myself more marketable to prospective employers. Emphasized the most important aspects of teaching English as a Second Language, both online and in-person. Bravo!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Pace yourself, make notes, and review those notes before taking the exam.

Firstly, I only provide honest reviews :)

I have no teaching background at all, but pleasingly, this course feels complete.
It is mostly succinct, relevant and in a logical order.

Albeit me being a native speaker, I found learning grammar correctly a challenge.
Nevertheless, World TESOL walks you through and provides good examples.

I also really enjoyed some of the videos with teacher Jay and the young learners. It was easy to see the kids enthusiasm under the guidance of Jay!

I found the online teaching component had some good ideas that I hadn't really thought about. Additionally, some great tips on what recruiters are looking for and how best to present a demo to them.

Lastly, I had what I thought was a system error. As frustrating as it was, Heather came on line, investigated the cause and updated me in a timely fashion.

In summary, I was pleasantly surprised with the coverage and quality of the course and its value. Accordingly, I recommend this to course to you.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?

I thought I could eat most foods - then I came to Vietnam.
At a family gathering I was 'honoured' to be given the pig's umbilical cord.
Tasty it was not :(

Cons

Minor - I unsubscribed from 'marketing emails', but did not realise this unsubscribed me from 'all emails' ... meaning I missed my subscription end date and had to pay an extra fee to enrol for lifetime access.

When I saw the advert for World TESOL Academy, and the price, I didn’t believe it. It is affordable for everybody to enroll the course. When I started the course I was surprised by how much I actually didn’t know about teaching English. I learned how to motivate my students, when to correct them, how to make good lesson plans and so much more. My advice for people that are planning to enroll in this course is to always have a notebook with you and write down all the necessary information.

The 120-hr TESOL Course was easy and convenient to access. The review of concepts was very useful for a language teacher like me. There was also an access to an online tutor who could help you if you have questions. I didn't use the tutor option because I was able to easily go through each lesson. The hyperlinks were also very helpful for providing more examples or clarification to specific concepts. Thank you very much to the organizers. I hope that I can use my certificate to build my resume and easily land more jobs in the future.

It was outstanding! It was detailed, it was fun and it was inclusive and exceeded my expectations in learning online teaching! Loved it. I will refer to my friends and family with closed eyes and if I had a the chance to do again I will definitely take the chance. It was opened new spectrums of job opportunities for me and I am very excited to be on the online teaching board and benefit from everything that I learnt. This was an amazing experience for me and I wouldn’t chose any other course over this one!

This course is really amazing , it teaches you how to thoughtfully and effectively teach the English language. From understanding nouns and adverbs to teaching pronunciation and grammar. I definitely want to recommend Worldwide TESOL Academy to anyone who is interested in TESOL course certification. The live chat is very helpful and very supportive of you. I had a few times when I was stuck on a quiz and they were a lot of help. I without a doubt can recommend this TESOL course to anyone who has the desire to become a certified English teacher. Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

Going into my experience teaching English as a foreign language overseas, my biggest fear was not being able to effectively connect with and engage my students due to language barriers and cultural differences. I worried that my limited experience in new cultural settings might make it challenging to communicate and build rapport.

I overcame this fear by investing time in learning about the local culture and customs, actively seeking feedback from students and colleagues, and adapting my teaching methods to better suit their needs. As I gained more experience and confidence, I realized that being flexible and open to learning from my students greatly enhanced my teaching effectiveness. My views on the issue evolved as I understood that building relationships and understanding local contexts are key to successful teaching abroad.
