This wonderful project was created with the goal of helping to preserve the amazing sea turtle. The Turtle Conservation Program works to conserve the future of this majestic creature. Working with several of the main species of sea turtles to inhabit the Pacific, the main focus of this project is to protect and nurture the clutches of eggs laid across vital beach nesting grounds during the nesting and hatching season (June-February) and work on conservation and research projects at other times.
This essential program works to save Costa Rica’s wildlife that is facing a crisis of epic proportions. Development, agriculture, illegal exotic animal trade and contamination are just a few of the issues that affect wildlife and many species are under threat. Volunteers on this fantastic program will spend time working in animal rescue centers aimed at helping endangered species and wildlife in general.
The mission of this program is to contribute to the children of Costa Rica, to promote education and to ensure their proper physical, emotional and social development. The early childhood centres on this program provide care and education for local children, aged 3 to 6 years and provide a place where the children of working-class parents can be educated, make friends and feel comfortable.
This amazing program will be a wonderful experience for volunteers interested in a career in the healthcare or medical field, those on a pre-med track or med and nursing students. Participants work in small clinics helping to deliver healthcare to the Costa Rican community in San Ramon.
This inspiring conservation program works to promote and encourage sustainable agriculture practices in the Sarapiquí rainforest. Working on an organic, self-sufficient farm the program is open to all international volunteers who enjoy working in nature and with rural communities, those who like to spend time preserving and helping the environment and all of its components.
