I originally wanted to start learning to teach English as a foreign language back during the pandemic in 2020. I looked through many different programs but either couldn’t find the time to commit, or would be short on money as I was looking. I got the notion to look again a few months ago, and found this program. World tesol academy made it not only affordable to pursue my career, but convenient and (for better or for worse) at my own pace. I can’t wait to see what possibilities lie ahead in the future.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

Undoubtedly the final exam. I had taken in so much information in such a short period of time that I thought it would take me a few tries. Luckily I got it on the first try.

An amazing experience while studying this course. A lot of useful information and a lot of helpful tips for teaching English to different age groups.
I would honestly recommend it to all who are interested to teach English in the future.
There is a lot of useful information in this course that can be used in the future teaching.
There are tips on how certain group of learners should be approached.
Also there are many examples and ideas of exercises that can be use in the future while teaching English

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

I would have less fear of studying this course, because it turned out to be very easy to understand

Since I was planning to explore teaching overseas, I began to look for a TESOL certification where I could learn and get help with my requirements. Then, I happened to search on Google. With unnumbered sites, I made the decision to choose World TESOL Academy, and it didn't bring me down. The approach was very clear, given the examples and illustrations. I also had a little problem with my name in my certification, and they resolved it immediately without any further conflicts. I finished the course and was glad I made it. What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

You'll never know unless you try. Keep on keeping on! Help yourself to finish what you have started.

I looked at lots of different TEFL courses and read the reviews and this was the best courses i found.
It was very easy to access, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
The tutors were encouraging and supportive. Whenever i was stuck I could reach out to the tutors at any time day or night, and they would help me with whatever i needed. They were very patient and understanding.
I also found this course very affordable, and it was encouraging to read so many good reviews about them.
I am happy to recommend this company!!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Study study and study! And don’t be afraid to reach out to the tutors-thats what they’re there for!

I have completed my 120 Hours TESOL / TEFL Certification in 2022. It’s really help me in teaching young learners of English as second language. As I love to teach young learners and found this course very helpful in teaching ESL to young learners.
Currently I am working as an ESL teacher in china. I am passionate about my profession. Teaching is a profession which creates all the other professions.
I recommend the teachers who are teaching English as second language , this academy “World Tesol Academy” provides you authentic and helpful courses in teaching English.

What was your funniest moment?

When I first came to china and trying to spoke a unknown language.

The program was so exciting and rich. I learned a lot from each lesson. From the introductory lesson given details about the program to the core content, I was so thrilled.

As an English language student and teacher, I learned new ways of presenting a lesson, classroom management and lesson planning. Also, the online teaching techniques I learned were so overwhelming.

For new students/teachers, I wish to say taking this Course will empower your knowledge in English language and equally make you a quality and confident English teacher.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?

A video lesson where the teacher used the drawing of a monster to teach and explain different language skills.
It was so unique for me because I never thought one can use a negative thing to bring out positive lessons.

I’ve been teaching English in China for the past five years as a foreign language now and I can say that this is the best job of my life. When I studied for my Master’s at university as an ESL teacher, I had already heard about TESOL but I didn’t have time to finish the course. Now I decided to do it and I got my TEFL and TEYL certificates.

I can absolutely recommend World TESOL Academy to everyone because this is exactly the course that you’re going to need if you would like to teach abroad and offline and online. I didn’t just refresh what I’d known before, but I also learned a lot of things about pedagogy and language teaching. I enjoyed everything with the course, but my favorite was the online classroom part. So go for it, get your certificate. It’s worth it and you won’t regret your decision!

What was your funniest moment?

First kindergarten in china

It became a great tool to understand and do the lessons and quizzes. I found it is more self regulatory, encouraging and exciting. Thank you for designing such a wonderful platform. Regarding my education, I have already done in MEd and MA in major English. Currently, I have been teaching the students of a University. My subject is Business English and Managerial Communication but what I learnt from this World TESOL Academy is very useful, interesting and adaptable. I am pretty sure that I will make my classes more professional and interesting in coming future. I had been working in China as an English Teacher at Middle School in ChangChung Province in 2010. Now this course has given me many more new insights and confidence not only understand but to apply in my classroom.

Why did you choose this program?

I chose the JET Program because friends and classmates had heard good things about the program. I felt like my chances of getting accepted and having the opportunity to explore and do more with Japan after my experiences as a study abroad student in high school and university in Japan was a good next step.

What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

The Japanese government operates the JET Program. It is a long drawn-out application process that takes months to complete all the steps, but there is a lot of useful information about the whole process that they mail to you to explain it. There are also a lot of JET Alumni with chapters all over who often assist with orientation and answering questions for potential new applicants to the program.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

I would recommend looking into as much information about the location you will be going to in Japan on the JET Program because every situation is different. Try to find out as much as you can about the specific region or city you will be placed in. Also, prepare some pictures or souvenirs from you hometown or country to share with people as a good icebreaker to introduce yourself to people when you arrive.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

Every situation is different. But in my case, I had about 12 classes per week to teach and prepare for ranging from kindergarten up to the 9th grade. I would be at work from 9 - 5 Monday - Friday and was sometimes required to work on weekends when there were special events at the school or in the community.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

Eating exotic food that I wasn't comfortable with was my biggest fear. Trying to stomach and attempt to eat foods that back home I would never imagine even trying to eat. Trying to keep an open mind, and attempt to experience at least eating the cuisine once, opened my eyes and stomach to some foods that I enjoy now but never would have even tried to eat before.
