At Welcome to Travel; Experiences are what we do best! Our goal is to inspire you to travel, be curious, and experience new things through our tours. You will be joined by other like-minded travellers whilst becoming part of our community, the Welcome to Travel Family.

Your Aussie bucket list will be ticked off as you feed a kangaroo, grab a snap with a koala and even have a go at surfing. You'll also be treated all week as you go wine tasting, indulge in a food tour and get taken Melbourne's biggest bar crawl.

You'll also have the simple things sorted, including a personalised airport pickup, 7 nights accommodation and your Australian admin needs (bank account, tax file number and employment help) if required. We take the stress out of moving to a new country.

I was pretty clueless when I landed in Australia but Adam and Darryl sorted me out with everything.

The hostel organised was in a great location with great facilities and top staff.

They also sorted the things I needed too, guiding me through the tax file and bank account set up.

They knew anything and everything about Melbourne from places to eat in the city to the best beaches out of the city.

Not only did I feel relaxed and organised with the Welcome To Travel guys, I ended up with a great group of friends too!

I would absolutely recommend Welcome to Travel: Melbourne to anyone!

Adam and Darryl made my arrival into Melbourne so much easier than it could have been. They knew the best hidden bars to go for my birthday (which was shortly after I arrived) and for all other occasions as well!

They knew a lot of great spots to visit in Victoria which were off the usual tourist trail. They also gave me some great advice on where to travel in Australia throughout the seasons (turns out it isn't just sunny, hot and dry everyday here!).

All in all they're great people to seek advice from because they have such varied interests - from sport to food and drink to travel - and that's why they love Melbourne so much, as it offers something for everyone.

What is your favorite travel memory?

My overall favorite travel memory is hiking Machu Picchu and seeing that sunrise after a tough trek, absolute magic.

My favorite Australian travel memory would kayaking through Katherine Gorge in the Northern Territory. The sun was beating down and the view was consistently perfect as I kayaked. I was truly in awe of the size of the towering cliffs on either side of me. I felt like I was just a floating little dot in comparison.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have learned that not everything will work first time, and to not treat that as a negative.

You should think to look at it from the perspective of 'if that sounds amazing now, how good will it be when you redraft, redesign and rework it to perfection', and that's what we try and do with every aspect of the company, as opposed to settling with the easy option.

I suppose this is linked to the above but I've also learned more and more that myself and Darryl are ultimately accountable - if we don't put it in, we won't get it back. There's no relying on others which is hard, but also the ultimate freedom and feeling of pride when it comes off.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

There's no single one. It's always a special feeling to hear how our advice and personalized tips took passengers trips beyond their expectations. To know it's those experiences they're raving about to family and friends back home naturally gives you a lovely warm feeling.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Well, probably the Welcome to Melbourne program... it's the only one we do! It's not that we're lazy, it's just where we're at this early in our business, and it's what we know best.

I have no doubt in my mind that Welcome to Melbourne is the most exciting, diverse and personalized arrival package that is on offer in Australia, and that's why I'd choose it.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Our company is based on the adventures of two best friends going traveling in 2010, with the idea of being home 6 months later. That's pretty unique.

What makes me proud is the fact we've consistently supported and competed with each other which has in turn aided our progression in our careers. We've had several ideas that we could have done for the sake of it but that's not us.

This is about the passion for the idea and how we can make it the best experience a traveller can get. The confidence and ambition to pursue an idea and work tirelessly to make it a success fills me with pride. I'm welling up here.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Communication.

It's important to discuss each idea at length, not only to decide if it's a good idea but also to progress a basic idea in to a much bigger idea that could have massively successful impact.
